This time of year is the time for all the horror movies to come out. Hundreds of them are on cable and streaming apps. Look at all the horror characters we have grown to know over the years:
* Halloween is still going strong. A new movie just came out. Halloween Ends and comes out on October 14th. This is going to twelfth installment in the Halloween franchise.
* Friday the 13th is about the same with 12 movies to that franchise.
* Scream has five movies to its credit.
* Saw has eight. I really like these.
* Psycho had 4 plus the Bates Motel series which I watched and was very disappointed in how they ended it.
*Chucky has seven and a tv series also.
* American Horror Story has had ten or eleven seasons starting back in 2011 with Murder House. I watched each season and enjoyed them all up to Roanoke. After that one, I don't watch them anymore. I enjoyed Murder House, Asylum, Coven, Freak House, and Hotel. After that, they lost me.
Then there are Leprauchaun movies and Goosebumps, Puppet Masters, and some others not counting the vampire and Frankenstein ones that are where the genre really got started. I will soon do a review of what I feel is the best two vamp movies I have seen so far.
Can you think of others I have missed? What would you like to see them do next?

I would be more interested in seeing movies about the monsters inside regular people. But, it is rather weird to see that the slashers have more in their franchises.

@celticeagle Some of the greatest horror, in movies and in books, have been more about inner demons than ones clearly visible to us.

I don't watch actual scary movies since they give me nightmares. I haven't watched horror movies since Pretty was four or five years old. I woke the house and part of the neighborhood up screaming in my sleep after watching something scary... I just don't do it anymore.
I do like the comedy type scary shows, though.

I would like to see more "Tales From The Crypt" shows since they are based on comic book stories.

I think you covered them all. I’ve never been able to enjoy scary movies. As a little girl, watching Alfred Hitchcock’s Birds gave me nightmares for months.
