Who doesn't like bacon? My husband! Can you believe it?
Bacon is salt-cured pork. In the United States it is from the side of the pig. Back bacon is known as Canadian Bacon. There is also turkey bacon and vegetarian bacon.
Salted pork belly first appeared in China; and the first commercial processing plant was opened in Wiltshire in the 1770's. Macon is a mutton-based product that was historically produced in Scotland. It was an answer to the rationing during World War II in Britain. Today it is produced for the Muslim market.
There are bacon restaurants in the US such as BACON Boise Restaurant and Online Store located in downtown Boise, Idaho. BACON serves Breakfast, Brunch, Bacon Shots, Bacon Bloody Mary's, Bacon Cinnamon Rolls, and much more. The US fascination with bacon is widespread!
There are health concerns about the nitrites in processed meats; but bacon continues to be a popular food item. There is some bacon that is produced without nitrites.
Do you like bacon? Have you ever had turkey bacon or vegetarian bacon?

I LOVE pork bacon but I would not try vegetarian bacon. If I want to eat veggies, I´ll eat eggplants, zucchini or cauliflower. I will not eat fake food.

Oh, yes! I prefer turkey bacon to pork bacon. (Pretty always wants to buy pork bacon but she wants me to cook it for her... I refuse to cook it because I always get popped with bacon grease. And yes, I cooked it in the oven once... and spent most of one day cleaning the oven after that. Not happening again!)

You can cook bacon in the microwave. Put it on a plate between two layers of paper towels.

@LindaOHio Nope... she doesn't need real bacon. Turkey bacon doesn't need special coddling for it to be delicious.

@Juliaacv $10 a pound??? Wow! Hubs has to do the shopping now; and I haven't been in a store in years. That's quite a shock.

Wow! A pound a week. The nitrites aren't good for you either. I like it once and a while for a treat.

I am a vegetarian by choice. Never tried them. But I know that they are quite popular and must be so because they are loved. My husband and daughters are non vegetarian but they stick to chicken and fish.

The smell is sooo good. I like turkey bacon occasionally because it's so much leaner.

Do I like bacon? That’s like asking me if I like to breathe. Of course I love bacon!!! I eat it every chance I get. In fact, this weekend I cooked three packs of bacon. I even shared some with my girlfriend and daughter! Lol
Most people’s BLT’s consist of bacon, lettuce and tomato. Mine is like this:
B = Bacon
L = Lots of bacon
T = Topped with bacon
As you can see, my BLT’s don’t have any room for the lettuce or tomato.

@LindaOHio I had bought it all when it was on sale, but never cooked it right away due to a busy and hectic schedule. I didn’t want it to go bad, so the first chance I had I cooked it. I knew that the cooked bacon would not go to waste.

Someone in Canada said that it is selling for $10 per pound!!! I haven't been in a store for years (hubs has to do the shopping); so I haven't seen the prices.

@LindaOHio That’s very expensive. The prices are skyrocketing here. Just 200g of butter is 3€ plus.

Love bacon! Doctor's orders no bacon. It's ok, can't afford it now. Told my doctor, but I'll have bacon bits. Tried vegetarian bacon, it's totally not the same. Like eating oily cardboard.

I like bacon if it is cooked correctly (in a 400 degree oven for 40 minutes lol). I won't usually order it though because it usually won't be cooked to how i like it lol. The fat has to be cooked enough or it's gross.
