The first vaccines against the monkeypox are in my country.

Today, the first vaccines against the monkeypox arrived to my country. And I´m in the age group to be able to get it first. Vaccines in my country are free but there is a way of getting them. Preferences are for people either with certain conditions and with certain ages. I meet both the age group and the health group. Other people that come first are people who work in health institutions (doctors, nurses and the like) and people who work in some places (such as my youngest daughter who is a judge). I hope that, as soon as Dixie is here, she can take me. If she can´t, I´ll ask Claudia to do it. How is it done in your country?

Vaccines are made available to certain professions first, and by age groups next.

@marguicha I haven't paid attention to much about monkey pox. It didn't seem important with Covid still making the rounds here.

Glad you can get that vaccine. You know I haven't even taken the COVID vaccine and don't plan on getting the flu shot so this will just pass me by too. From what I see online it is being offered in FLorida,

I never took the flu shot until the covid pandemics. Then all hospitals were full of people with covid and unless you were dying, you could not have assistance except online. So I had all the vaccines as a way of taking care of myself. In spite of the vaccine. all the members of my family got the covid. But all they had was a sort of flu. They did not even have to go to the hospital.

I wonder if the side effects of it will be bad. Hopefully not.

Wow you have it available there already. I have seen it on the news a few weeks back or has it been a month already. But lately I haven’t heard of the vaccine being available here. I guess we’ll be getting it as soon as the rest of the world has it already.

@marguicha Oh wow. I feel like for monkeypox it may take a year before it is available here. A lot of people still hasn’t gotten the covid vaccine as well so I guess we aren’t in a hurry to get the monkeypox vaccine here.

I haven’t heard about monkeypox. We don’t have wild monkeys here. I got my covid booster and my flu shot Friday. This was my fourth covid vaccination and I get a flu shot every year.

This virus usually comes with tourists from elsewhere. We don´t have monkeys here either yet there have been a few cases of the monkeypox.

All vaccines are the same here as far as health and age as far as I know, I am not certain of it though. But usually the health workers get them first.

The vaccine is available from the past month of July and available for some categories. We do not need this one.

I heard that if people who had smallpox vaccines before, then they can have the immunity to monkeypox. I hope it is true.
