Overcoming Procrastination

I'm not really proud of it, but I tend to procrastinate a lot and lately it has affected the people around me which is no longer funny. I'm on a journey now to try and overcome and defeat my procrastinating self. Have you ever been in such a situation? How long did it take you to overcome a difficult problem?

I'm sorry, I've never had that problem. I really hope you can "fix" that part of yourself...

@hexeduser22 Did you forget? I'm retired. I don't have to go get or go do anything anymore. I'm just having fun now.

I would say I got about 80% stuff done on schedule today. It's a good start

What do you procrastinate about? I usually just practice doing a task right away so that it doesn’t pile up in the long run. Regarding other things, I just make sure I try to do things as soon as possible because the more you procrastinate the more nothing is done. So maybe being mindful of what you do can help? I hope you overcome it. Maybe you just need someone to help you with it.

Almost everything in doing daily chores I work from home so everything is just about doing something at home. I'm pushing myself now to make sure I get everything done as soon as I can

The foot of the man in your piccie (who is this supposed to be?) is screwed on in a strange way. I'm sure he'd have great probs walking with it in real life.

I noticed that too. It's an AI generated artwork from nightcafe.studio. I just typed Procrastinating monk and this is what it gave me.

@sol_cee I always run... run away from chores

I try to hide my presence most of the time, so I must say I can't influence anyone if they don't notice me

probably laziness is the root cause of procrastination...

At first, I thought it was because of laziness too, but if I were lazy, I wouldn't be working hard to provide for my family, right?

@Rimps85 well I guess even "working hard" now is subjective.

@hexeduser22 it depends how you define "working hard"

Yes, I have been in problems and also have the habit of procrastination. I also try to overcome it but was not successful. I think for me it's still taking time. I cannot say for you, maybe you take lesser time than me.

You can overcome it if you're determined to get rid of it from your system. Don't wait for something bad to happen before you start pushing yourself. We can do it. Let's get rid of it!

@hexeduser22 Yes, we can do it, the only thing is we need strong determination.

I procrastinate only trivial things so don’t get affected much.. neither me nor anyone else around me. Well writing what tasks need to be done and then checking it now and again helps to keep you on feet.
