Everybody's attention is riveted to Ukraine but there is another hotspot in Central Asia and that is the cauldron created by Turkey, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. Armenia was for tens of years, a part of the Ottoman empire and they treated the Christians of Armenia in a despicable manner. It is also reported that a massacre or genocide of the Christians in Armenia took place and the Vatican has confirmed and condemned it, including the USA. An estimated 1 million were killed, but figures were never verified. Azerbaijan is a Muslim country that is part of the Soviet Union along with Armenia and is its enemy. Both Armenia and Azerbaijan have recently fought two wars and Turkey is an ally of Azerbaijan. Turkish President Erdogan is also highly critical of India and has been raising the Kashmir issue on behalf of Pakistan in the United Nations. There was going to be a reaction to all this, as India is no longer having a supine leadership. The Indian government under Modi has now supplied arms and missiles to Armenia as part of its geopolitical role. Thousands of Indian tourists are also going to Armenia for a holiday, which is a lovely place. I visited Armenia and realized what a wonderful and tranquil place it is. It is a pity that it is being dragged into a game of power politics by its two Muslim neighbors Turkey and Azerbaijan.

You are right, the Armenian people have been mistreated from tens of years, but no one even moved a finger to help them... they do not have rare earths that are interesting for powerful countries.

Anna, thank you for commenting. Armenia was a Turkish colony and treatment was terrible.

@madan02 Exactly, Turks were cruel, when they invaded Caucasia, their soldiers massacred Armenians and other Christians and also encouraged Kurds and Azerbaijanis to do so..

Judy, yes I agree but unfortunately, there is a big history of enmity between the Turks and the Christians in Armenia
