Even though a pigeons brain only weighs 14 grams, the neurons are packed very tightly together and the electrical signals in their brains don't have to travel very far. This adaptation is to save weight when the birds have to fly. Birds are very smart and have many amazing abilities that we might not expect from beings with so small of brains. What did you learn today?

Birds are incredibly smart. I observe the crows coming to my garden. I place outside stale bread and a basin of water. They get the bread, place inside the water, turn once, when it is soft enough they eat.

Some birds, like crows, are very good at problem-solving too. It's amazing how pigeons find their way home.

Birds are pretty smart. No one can doubt the memory of migratory birds who never go wrong with their direction of flying. Intelligence is innate. Nature provides every organism the innate intelligence to survive and thrive.
