My son and I made some purchases at 'Pantaloons ' on 1st October. We made a total purchase of about Rs.10,000 for which we got a gift voucher of about Rs.2000. I used the voucher to get a maxi dress of about Rs.1200 of which my son had to pay something above Rs.200 even after having the voucher. So I could utilize just Rs.1000. The rest Rs.1000 my son could utilize online. When he tried to use it online he was asked to make a purchase of Rs.3000 online. Isn't this branded company a cheat? Giving its customers hope and in the garb of vouchers cheat them. Such companies should be stopped from issuing vouchers.

Yes I understand you. They give with one hand, and take with the other. A form of cheating yes.

Yes, but they will be losing customers like that. For me I am not visiting that store anymore.

@aninditasen But remember that particular store may not close down because of the absence of a few customers. There are some shoppers who don't like the offers at all. They would rather give out the gift vouchers to other shoppers willingly.

Vouchers don't always work if there's conditions printed. Sometimes a bargain isn't a bargain at all.

@aninditasen I wouldn't shop there either if there was no conditions prior to your purchase

@Marilynda1225 I wouldn't shop in any store that has this voucher facilities as it's just cheating. I would rather like a discount.

Who can I report. The company itself is a cheat. So better avoid such companies.

That's a high end cheating these brands do. To get one discount we have to pay 2x more than that.

You are absolutely right and they don't divulge it while you are making your purchases. They mainly cheat online as at the store the customer will raise an alarm.

Are there any terms and conditions printed on the voucher? When I get vouchers from merchants, sometimes there are conditions that I have to make a purchase of certain amount to use the voucher.

@aninditasen Here, it's pretty common that vouchers have terms and conditions.

Yes they cheat their customers to make more purchases hence making more sales. Most stores do this to push up the sales.

We already made in store purchases for which we got the voucher. When my son tried to redeem it online as directed by the store sales people he got a message to make a purchase of Rs.3000.

Amazon keeps sending me gift vouchers but they are conditional in that I have to use them for certain things and mostly I am not interested such as buying cinema tickets and such

I therefore avoid taking vouchers. I ask them to better give me some discount. Anyway I am not going there again.
