What is the Creepiest, Coolest Ghost Town in Iowa? Nope. I'm sorry, that's a wrong answer. Whatever you answered. Because it was a Trick Question. The Creepiest, Coolest Ghost Town in Iowa isn't a Town at all. It is the Gitchie Manitou State Preserve, a 91-acre park in the Northwest corner of the state, close to South Dakota and Minnesota. Its' alleged spookiness stems from the many Native American Burial Mounds it contains and the murder of four teenagers in 1973 by three brothers in the park ((That sounds like an interesting case to research and someday, I may get to it)). I'm guessing that you guessed it was Villisca, the site of the Axe Murder House, because it's the only creepy spot in Iowa that most people know about. Except for the Field Of Dreams but it doesn't count because, while it's full of ghosts, they're all fake Hollywood Ghosts. The big Caveat in all this is the question of whether or not "The Creepiest, Coolest Ghost Town in Every State ((Linked Below))," is accurate. These lists tend to be subjective and oftentimes, people disagree with them ((Especially the 50 Best Albums Of All Time lists for some reason)). Check out their choice for your state and see if you agree with it. One thing I can say for this list is that I think they nailed the Creepiest Ghost Town in America, as far as MAGA is concerned. It's the Town they picked for Connecticut, Gay City. It reportedly has some ghosts but what my MAGA friends are going to find scary and off-putting is the name.
