Why is regretting always comes last

A few weeks ago, while my daughter and I decided to just walk our way to the market. As we were nearing the Security gate, a shuttle driver stopped and offered us a ride with a discount. We were on a tight budget, so I politely declined and replied "No thanks" and we continued walking. However, I checked my wallet and saw that I still have some loose coins in my purse, more than enough to take the offered ride. It was too late to call him out, as he sped fast and was already too far for us to catch up. "Why didn't I we take the ride? I asked my daughter., "We should have taken the offer". We still have lots of coins in our purse. "I quipped further, while showing her my purse. My 5year old daughter, answered like an adult, then told me "We always regret things in the end." She was right, you know.

That is so true in the end you think about it and wish you had done it differently.
