Have you ever tried aromatherapy?

I tried aromatherapy recently. I bought some lavender oil. I have candles and the scent is great. If I add too much oil the scent is too intense. I learned to add only three or four oil drops. I tried lavender because it has a calming effect. I didn't notice that calming effect. Instead I had a better mood because that smell is pleasant. It lifts my mood. Have you tried it? I wish it would be better for relaxation.

I have tried it with lavender oil and it's really calming. But I can only do it when my husband is away on business tour. He has a highly sensitive nose. Any fragrance even the mildest one can trigger his allergy.

Like your husband, I have a highly sensitive nose. All my skin care products must be fragrance free and I don't use any perfume.

I have a sensitive nose too. If I add too many oil drops I start to cough. It seems intolerable. I am lucky because I don't have an allergy.

@Beestring The same here. We have all our products including the cleaning products fragrance free. Even the mildest smell causes severe headache to him.

It is so interesting you made this post, because yesterday night we had a big TV program talking about aromatherapy. I never tried it myself, but I strongly believe it has good effect on our mood and life. You are so much right: don't use too much and try and read/study all you can before doing things, or side effects can arise as well. Hope you are feeling good today!

I agree with you. I wasn't aware of side effects. I am trying to be active here today. I am feeling anxious. I hope I can overcome these feelings.

@dya80dya, just breathe in and out slowly and try and give your heart some time to talk to you alone. Sometimes, take a break from the internet and try and see the nature around you, even if it is through your window or a small garden next to the place where you live. It is not bad to be with yourself and enjoy your company no matter what people say to you. We are here if you need our words! ??

Years ago, while flying from Europe to the United States, Delta Airlines said they were using aromatherapy during the 9 hours flight.

My girlfriend will sometimes use lavender oil to help her relax and fall asleep. It does have a very soothing aroma.

I've used those diffusers which contain scented flavors. I usually get them for the holidays. I did not know they help with one's mood. Good to know they do more than just add a nice smell to the home.
