My son and I have a nightly routine where we relax and just watch something together. Sometimes it's a movie other times it's a TV show. We recently started watching "That Girl" together. I was surprised he likes it because it is an older show but he has been loving it.
If you haven't seen it or heard of it, it stars Marlo Thomas (Danny Thomas' daughter) and Ted Bessell and it's about a girl Ann Marie (Marie is her last name)who moves to New York City to be an actress and is from a tiny town in the state of New York. While there she meets her boyfriend Don Hollinger (Ted Bessell) and she just kind of makes a life for herself with her boyfriend and the several friends she meets along the way. She gets into crazy "I love Lucy" type antics like once getting her toe stuck in a bowling ball. She is trying to make a career as a successful actress which doesn't always go the way she'd like. Her boyfriend Don is a writer and he's basically Ann's opposite when it comes to personality. He's more serious and cautious while she's more carefree and likes to take chances. They make a good pair and even each other out.
Ann's parents are also a pretty big part of the series especially her father who is a restaurant owner for the small town she grew up in. Lew Marie was played by Lew Parker and his wife Helen was played by Rosemary DeCamp. Lew is a very loving but protective father. He gives Don a hard time and would love nothing more for Ann to move back home but at the same time wants his daughter to succeed and is very proud of her. His wife Helen is kind of like his voice of reason and tries to talk him down but it seldom works. Ann is very much a daddy's girl and always wants her father's approval but ultimately does what she feels she has to to get where she wants even without his approval.
It's a cute show and it usually makes me laugh. My son seems to be loving it and will request it a lot.

That show has been around for a long time. I see her occasionally in a commercial for the children's hospital her dad started.

@celticeagle It's a very good show. My son gets a good laugh from it and he's fairly picky about movies and TV shows.

I haven't watched movies for a long time. It must be nice to be able to watch any movies.

This was a TV series but I do watch a lot of movies. I can't watch any movie I want but I do have a pretty wide range of movies I can watch. I however love a lot of old movies and a lot of them are very difficult to find. I feel pretty fortunate to be able to watch the ones I do though.
