The Illinois Lottery lets you play the lottery online, which, depending on who is playing could be a good thing or a bad thing. For me it does not matter because I only ever play with what I am able to and willing to lose.
On their Fast Play games online I tend to win more than even if you go out and physically buy the scratch offs. Not sure why this is, actually. But there have been a couple of times I have won $125, $50, $75 and so on and so forth.
Today I had a couple of minutes while the wife ran out to do something after we closed the pool and I decided to buy some Powerball tickets and, on a whim, decided I would play one round of Break 'Em.
I won $100.
It is never life changing money, and I probably spend more than I ever win. But it fills the coffers a bit more, I get a little bit back, and live to play another day.
I will take it.

Any money earned is never bad. We got a free quarter today because George decided to rescue a shopping cart someone left in the save-a-lot parking lot.

@kaylachan Yes they do, and I have made it a point to not only keep every penny I can, but certainly every quarter I can. lol

Plus, it's exciting, isn't it? Two minutes well spent. I wonder if we can play the lotto online in NYC...

Congratulations. I don't like scratching off tickets so I don't buy them. We don't have the online option here.

@porwest I wish you could buy Classic Lotto tickets online. Hubs has to go out and get me new tickets every 2-1/2 weeks.

@LindaOHio Many states are now allowing it. But I can see why some may not want to go that route.

Congrats on the win! I live in Alabama and we don't have the lottery yet all the states around us do. I think if they were to let the people vote, the majority now would be in support of it. I know whenever the jackpot gets high, so many will travel to other states to play.
Now we do have what we call "bingo halls" which are filled with slot machines and some of them actually now have an online way to play. I have never tried it but I have a relative that plays all the time and once won $2k.

Alabama is one of those states I make fun of the entire way through when we drive through there to the panhandle in Florida because of their lack of lottery. But I know it has been an area of contention with voters there for some time, and growing, and I think one day they may have it. But who knows?

@porwest It is similar to us here - the STL or small town lottery.

Congratulations! Six months to a year ago I would have said that’s a nice chunk of money, but I’m pretty sure in today’s high inflation economy that $100 will buy you a loaf of bread. Haha
