How Often Do You Eat Rice? Or Not At All?

I'm Chinese. Rice is a staple food to me. I eat rice at least once a day. It is usually eaten with a dish. Rice is a good source of carbohydrates, which is needed for energy. I eat white rice most of the time. Sometimes, I have brown or red rice. Both brown and red rice are high in fiber, and contain minerals including magnesium, manganese, selenium, zinc and iron. How often do you eat rice? Or, not at all?

I am glad that you posed the question the way that you do. Not everyone eats rice. I do not like it and I do not eat it.

I understand why @DaddyEvil likes your comment. He pretty much love rice so much, he can't let it go. He loves it when the rice move or wriggles inside his mouth

Nowadays, not usually. I used to have it 2 or 3 times a week, at the Asian buffet I lived near in OKC's Asian District.

@Beestring Yes, and probably a little too much. It was while I lived over there that my metabolism went from 'I can eat anything and not gain too much weight' to 'if you eat too much, you ARE getting rid of it!'

I eat rice once a day as that's a compulsion because at work in the canteen I have to eat rice as I cannot resist them. I know few people like @daddyevil who don't like them at all.

@Beestring For some reason, if I eat rice continually, I get bloated out, bloated stomach and gain weight.

@RebeccasFarm I see you gain weight because of the carbohydrates. But if your stomach is not feeling well, better not eating too much of it.

It is our staple food as well. We eat rice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. At home, we normally don't eat rice for breakfast. Bread or oats but not regularly.

We quite often have boiled rice with a main course. We use white rice. Sometimes I make myself rice pudding. I boil the rice in milk and add sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg.

@Beestring Good question on eating rice. I made rice to eat with my chili and do not make it that often. When my stomach is bothering me I may eat rice because that helps and at certain times with certain foods I will eat it and sometimes to add to my Sabbath meal I will make rice. I do not eat it every day.

I ate rice and shrimp this evening for dinner. Rice eating depends on main dish. I'm cooking stuffed bell peppers, good with rice. Then days that has sandwich, I've ham thawing, soon ham & cheese sandwich after stuffed peppers.
