Weird Word Wednesday- Bespoke

I heard the word bespoke on YouTube recently. I realized that I had no idea what it meant, although I'd heard it a few times. To me, the word doesn't seem to fit its meaning. However, I do understand the connection to verbally stating a set of specific instructions for a service or product. I think it feels awkward to use 'bespoke' in a sentence. Maybe that's just because I'm so unfamiliar with it. On a lighter note, I saw a funny comment about this word (credit: Innoculous.com). "Bespoke- a word so pretentious that it shouldn't be used: 'That word don't bespoke around here.'" What about you? Is this word familiar to you? Do you ever say it?

I've heard it but don't believe I've ever used it. It does sound a bit pretentious.

I like that funny comment. . Even I am unfamiliar with the word and would feel awkward to use it in a sentence. Because though I get the meaning now, I would still not be sure if I am using it at right time and right context.
