I said before my father is back to working as a public jeepney driver. His schedule is every other day he doesn't work everyday. He is old now but he can still drive and work as a driver. I'm happy for him because he has money of his own and he can help the family with his extra income. I thought 20 peso bill is rare and I'm surprised that it is very common now. Twenty pesos use to be paper bill but now there are coins circulating. I'm so happy to see that my father has already filled a can of milk with lots of 20 peso coins and has a new coin bank to collect more. He really request the collector of money in the jeep terminal to save the 20 peso coins for him. I don't know what is his plans for all those coins he saved up. He said it is for our house construction. I'm just so happy every time I see him putting and adding those coins in his coin bank

I'm happy for him because he is still strong enough. He used to plant lettuce but it is not successful. I want him working so he will be busy

@averygirl72 That’s good that he’s able to get out to work. Also most people feel better when they can work and earn.

When I was young, my father would come home from work every day and put his coin-change on the counter and give some of it to me & my brother & sister. There was a 'good feeling' (maybe 'a boost of dopamine') that would come from filling a 'piggy bank' with those coins (both 'the ones father would give me' and 'the ones I would find lying on the ground outside ... reminds me of the nickel glued to the floor of the students' lounge in Oklahoma City University's Psychology-department---put there as kind of a prank so older students could watch freshmen try to pick it up ...). About the switch from paper to coin ... reminds me that there's now a '1 dollar'-coin that looks like a quarter WAY TOO MUCH. (When some machines give you change for your bills, sometimes you'll get those dollars when you're expecting quarters ... but more often you'll accidentally SPEND dollars when you think you're spending quarters )

Pretty soon we will have 50 then 100 pesos coins. I wonder if it's to encourage people to use plastic (credit cards). I also believe senior citizens should not be discriminated against if they are willing and able to work.

In fact, 20 pesos are now coins. I believe that it is more feasible for this money to already be in coins if it has already been used regularly so that it won't readily deteriorate and become filthy. Coins have a longer shelf life than paper money.

@averygirl72 Well since they are frequently transferred from one hand to another they would definitely fade eventually.

" My father has lots of 20 peso coins " well at least your father has a noble plan for you I have lots of 20 pesos coins too and as you can see in the picture I had almost filled half of a decent size mason jar but unlike your father I have no plans of what to do with them, I guess I'm just crazy, when I get inside the house, 20 peso coins ( around 34 U.S. cents each) in my pocket goes straight to the jar

That is so nice to see. I feel I'm so rich if I have also a jar filled with 20 peso coin. The milk can he completely filled up is so heavy. I carry it the other day as we need to clean the house and I need to place it somewhere that the house helper won't see. He is now starting filling a plastic jar of Stick O.

Great that he is able to save a little something from his work. It may not seem like much, but like all money does, it adds up.

That's good but 20-peso coins aren't enough to save for house construction. It will take time. Why not bigger paper bills?

He just said that but I think he has other plans for his 20peso coins. We have a paper bills wooden bank for house funds
