Life saver...

Photo I took of the cane I was lent

I fell again coming up to my apartment from riding home from church. Of course, it messed up my knee again/some more. I don't know what made me think of them, but I texted the neighbor to my right (whose cat and fish I watched recently) and asked if by chance they had a cane or walking stick or something. About five minutes later, the husband came over with the one pictured, saying he had several canes due to the fact that he hurt his back so often. He adjusted the cane for me until it "fit" right, and now I have it to walk on until the cane I ordered comes in the mail (which should be about Wednesday). Ain't it great getting old?

I’m so sorry you keep hurting your knee. I hope the cane helps. If it doesn’t, get a walker.

I may wind up doing that the way things are going.

@xstitcher The ones with wheels are easy to use.

@RubyHawk Not only easy but handy too! I buy bottled water (the stuff where I live literally "stinks" from the chlorine) and having a walker with wheels I don't have to lug heavy cases of water up to my apartment, come to think of it I don't have to carry much anymore. It rides on the walker.

I am grateful for my wheelchair, I'll never need one like that, lol. But that being said, I wish your knee wasn't being a literal pain.

Boy, can I relate to your situation! What with knee replacements then breaking my ankle the one huge challenge is walking! Thankfully you have a neighbor with a cane to loan...I'm not too sure where the spare is that I was given. I lost my favorite cane in the house fire, so I had to get one from the thrift shop.

No wonder why for we grow old our body tends to be frail.

I am sorry, falling just isn't fun at all. I hope it heals soon.
