I see so many ads about food ordeting apps, I am just curious as to how many mylotters use this, as a means of eating a different kind of food. I get so many ads on my phone fir Doordash delivery drivers, until I am wondering if its really that big a business. What all does doordash deliver anyhow. I get at least 10 ads per day for doordash drivers. What the heck do they deliver? Curious.

It varies from city to city and availability. DoorDash does cover most chain restaurants, as well as places that might be a bit more local. Drivers can make good money, but the amount of orders they get can very from city to city too depending on size and customer base. I personally don't use such things, but I've looked into them.

@popciclecold I know it is. But, that doesn't always translate to the number of orders a driver will receive. You also have to keep in mind, drivers can turn off orders so they can have off-hours. Bare in mind, Door Dash is a lot like uber and Lyft. Only it's for food. So how well a driver does or how many orders they get really is up to the driver.

@popciclecold yes it is nice because after awhile of using the app and gaining points, you can get a free pizza.

No one would deliver where I live, so I have not tried one.

In my place, it is becoming popular too and many are using it as well than going out, they would rather have it delivered to home. I think that the industry is getting stronger as they also deliver documents to other short-distance delivery around the city.

@popciclecold They say that it is the only industry that was not affected much by the pandemic their demand even increased since many of the quarantined families opted for delivery.

I often order food online since I don't have to go to the market. I often order vegetables, frozen food and other groceries. But I don't often order fastfood because there are many kinds of restaurants nearby and it is better to go out than ordering it online.

I wish I could help answer that but we don't have doordash here as far as I know. I have used instacart one time to deliver groceries from Costco and ubereats for pizza delivery once but I won't do that again cuz they charge way too much all things considered.

I've ordered pizza a couple times over the last 5 years and even without these instacart type services they hike the delivery costs so that a simple pizza costs well over $20 and if you use those instacart or ubereats it costs even more.

When I was alone in my apartment last year, I used to buy food from an app or two. I don't usually prepare food since no one was with me when my brother moved.

We typically order food through Grabfood or Foodpanda. I am a frequent customer of the latter, particularly when I am too tired to cook.

I know that it helps some people to use Doordash and similar, like Uber Eats, I personally do not use these. So very expensive, I just can't see spending that on a meal. I consider myself a decent cook, and I buy carefully. We eat better this way. But I know some people don't have a lot of choices.

I am glad you and I have the choice. But I sometimes wonder.
