One more day of good weather, they say. I’ll go do something to enjoy it. Speaking of something, I’ll also give you the song that tops this list of songs with “something” in the title. I’ll bet you didn’t see this one coming! #1: Something So Strong - Crowded House Hey, look, @JudyEv — your countrymen! Yes, from the land down under we have Crowded House with their second-biggest hit in the US, behind the megahit “Don’t Dream It’s Over.” This was the follow-up to that song, and it’s about as different as night and day from the big hit ballad. Maybe that’s why I like it so much: it’s nothing like the predecessor. I also like the feel of the song. I always thought it had a Tom Petty feel to it. Not that I thought it was Petty or they were trying to sound like him, but…gee, I can’t explain it. It also feels a bit like the pre-Crowded House band, Split Enz, and their best-known song “I Got You.” Whatever the “feel,” I know it feels really good! Thanks for reading.
