Update & I'm Back

I don't know if you missed me. I decided I didn't have enough to keep me busy, so I'm back.
I'm working on 5 books. Two for publishing next year, two to finish, and one I'm editing and reading so I can work on the next book in the series. They are Where Eagles Soar, Destination Love, New Horizons: Predators and the Emerald Brotherhood - New Title, Love's Illusions, and Guns of War. Okay, that's six books. Love's Illusions and Guns of War aren't finished. New Horizons and Guns of War are both science fiction. I'm considering NaNoWriMo next month. If that's the case, I need to finish the read-through for New Horizons. The next book I'm working on is New Horizons: Dominion. That one will be the first book in the 10-book series.
Other than that, October has been the worst month of my life. I started the month with one of the worst colds ever. As soon as that was gone, I got COVID. I'm still working my way through it. To stay isolated, I leave the apartment at 3:30-4 in the morning when the building is still sleeping and get my mail. That way I'm not meeting anyone. I also take my trash down at that time.
Because of the cold and now COVID, I haven't been to church in two weeks. That's difficult.
It has also been a bad month for my favorite football team. The Pack has now lost three in a row. I don't see them going to the playoffs this year. It will be the first time in a long time that they haven't been to the playoffs. I know it's still early and they could get a wild card spot, but I have little hope. That's not to say I'm not watching them. I'm still yelling at the TV screen every week. Sunday was no exception. If you like football, you can watch their humiliation on Sunday night when they play the Bills. By the way, that's my pastor's favorite team. I expect they'll be in the playoffs.
Okay, that's it for the update and my return to myLot. How has your life been since I've been gone?
Thanks for reading.

Heh. I'm still working on my one book. Just got a page or so done on it. The 'Niners and the Packers are kid of "blah" this year. I don't think either of us will have "taunting rights." I wonder if your pastor rooting for the Bills helps them just a bit! Anyway, welcome back.

Welcome back. Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. I hope you can cick both illnesses. Being sick is the pits. Sounds like you're pretty busy. But, it'll be good to have you back and posting again. This month started poorly for me, too. Lack of power and a hurricane caused me to miss the first few days of the month. But I've been working hard to make up for it.

@just4him Our house was not really damaged, a tree split in our backyard. But we had no flooding. Lost power for about a week, that was the worst.

It is good to see you back. Wow, well that is quite a list of things you have going on. Don't push yourself too much though, you need time to recuperate.

I didn't mention all the TV I'm watching and the two games I'm playing to keep me busy. If my energy weren't at zero, I'd be great. Well, then I wouldn't have COVID either. I'm hoping to get back to church on Sunday. I've had enough of being sick.

You've been gone? I'm glad you're back.
I keep telling you to stop playing with the sick kids but noooo, you have to be right in the middle of things every time. I hope you feel better soon.
I'm still having fun with my eyes and have filed for disability. three months ago. So far, so good on that front.

@just4him Yeah, that's what everybody says right up until Covid finds them. We're still wearing masks every time we go outside our house. No colds, flu or Covid, so far. Also a lot fewer allergic reactions, too.
Oh, no! Are you looking at hearing aids or what?

What can I say in my defense? I didn't think the virus would get me. However, the cold left my immune system open for attack. Shame on it.
I'm glad you filed for disability. I think we would make a wonderful pair. You're having fun with your eyes and I'm having fun with my hearing, or lack of it.

@DaddyEvil I have hearing aids. I wear them more now than when I got them. I found the last time I went swimming; I was completely deaf in the water, and it took several hours before I could hear anything. I'm almost completely deaf in my right ear. The hearing aids help. I might need another audiology appointment to adjust the hearing aids.

@wolfgirl569 I'm sorry you've been blah. You know I love this time of year, still, I do like the longer days. You can't have them both.

Did we miss you? Of course we did. But glad to hear that you are back AND getting some fine work done. Even as a writer myself I could not imagine working on five books at a time, but I suppose if you have all these ideas wanting to find their way to a page, you just do it. Especially if the words are flowing, you almost CAN'T not do it.
Sorry to hear about getting sick, especially the Covid part. Had it once and it was not a joy in any way, shape or form.
As for life, life is good. Wife and I bought a camper a couple months ago and we have been having fun with that even though the season is very short on our first rounds—but next year we should have a blast with it and we will definitely make time to use it as much as we can.
Onward and upward and hope to see more of you around here.
