Have been gone most of the day. Errand day. Got everything done. Back home thank goodness.
Snapped a photo of the Sugar Maple tree in the front yard. Still has lots of orange leaves to enjoy. This tree is another of my favorites.
Sugar maple trees are well known for the liquid gold that resides inside them: sap. Theirs is especially high in sugar content, which means not as much of it is needed in order to create maple syrup.
But, the tree has to be about 40 years old before you see any of the sap. In the meantime I will enjoy the beautiful orange foliage each year. It is the last tree to lose its leaves in the yard. It seems to be in very good health.
Photo is mine.

The tree looks young, how old is the tree ?
It needs the green leaves to do the photosynthesis to get it's energy.
I think the more leaves it has in the sun light, the more sap it make.
Do you take care of the tree ? Do you protect it from diseases ?

@stringer321 Yes dear, I am well aware of what it takes to maintain the trees. Thank you for your comment. Have a good day.

@CarolDM I see. It's the sap that produces sugar.

Very beautiful tree, Lovely color. We had a great old oak at the end of out block in Latvia, and it was lovely all seasons but particularly autumn, I gave names to oaks and this handsome oak was Bernhardt,

That's a gorgeous tree. A little bit of info. We have a Sugar Maple Festival every spring in a town not too far from us.
