Stray animals on roads...and the old me

Driving is becoming stressful these days.
There are
a. Pedestrians who don't want to walk all the distance to their crossing because there are no pavements to walk on...all are encroached. In fact, there are hawkers, and people parking vehicles on the roads, making it very difficult for drivers as well as pedestrians.
b. Yeah, vehicles that are parked on the road, at times the engine is on...the person is telling the world, look I am right here...just went to restroom, or whatever. So please leave my vehicle alone. Imagine a 60 feet wide road, made narrower 50 feet with enclosed pavements of 5 feet on either side, and then 5 ft. on either side is lost with car parking of strangers. So a 40 feet dual carriage road with central curb separating traffic going uphill from traffic going down hill.
c. The cell phones....ah, people need a bus stop like cell phone corner...on every street, where they can talk on cell phones. These people cannot hear your honking because of the obvious reason. They are busy negotiating the terms and conditions of multi billion dollars deal.
d. The show off drivers...yeah there are those too. They like to startle by overtaking on the wrong side....they do have extremely urgent works...perhaps letting them honk indiscriminately, and letting them meander through the vehicles at the signal.
e. The missing lights cars...I drove today for almost an hour and a half in the night...so I know how scared I am of these cars. They are rich enough to have cars more expensive than mine, but not rich enough to repair those lights.
f. The stray animals.. In India, we have only the dogs, cows, buffaloes, and at times cats walking royally on the roads. I guess other countries see more varieties of animals. Sometimes there are leopards, or chita's. Never snakes. Never deers. Never rabbits. But hey, these few can cause havoc on our roads.. I am told there is a lady who fought a case in the court for preventing the death of these animals. If so, she can get funds to house these stray animals. That way, I am sure, we on street will be slightly safer...
Anyway, I survived...yet another day of miserable driving.
My reflexes are also coming down. :(
So I may also be wrong...
No accident, yet.
How bad or good is it in your parts of the world?

@wolfgirl569 True...but at 50 miles per hour, it is hard not to damage the vehicle too and not to steer off course...and that can even lead to crashing on some other vehicle or object. I tend to limit myself to 30 kms per hour in the city...even where I can go 40 kmph or 60 kmph. Primarily to prevent mishaps.

@vandana7 As we are often going 50 miles per hour on these roads it can sometimes be hard to stop. They will run right out before you know they are there. I prefer not to hit them but will not chance wrecking myself

Depending on where you live, there are various animals on the road. We hate to drive at night because we can't see well in the dark; and a deer could jump out in front of the car or some other animal. Driving everywhere is a challenge. So many people talk on the phone or text while driving.

People are becoming more and more self-absorbed. Now the animals are another story.

Not much better. People treat stop signs like suggestions. Because we're all in a hurry, you run into a lot of lead feet. (People who floor it because they can't be bothered to slow down). And, you're supposed to drive with your lights on in the rain, but today alone, I saw one in five cars without lights on in the rain.

We have vehicles going in wrong lane...one way...imagine when you are taking a U turn and suddenly find a vehicle coming at you that too on a slope...when you are supposed to accelerate and he is supposed to press break...that happened to me today.

@vandana7 Yeah, we have those too. But I've been lucky not to have to deal with it personally. Most crashes happen because of drivers driving on the wrong side of the road.

We have a big deer problem on the roads. The bright side is we have very few leopards, or chita's.

Cats do sometimes roam the streets, maybe because they have 9 lives?? So they are not afraid.
But buffalo cows and dogs roam the road, Isn't that a danger to the driver?? Because they are very big, And what if there is an accident because of the driver trying to avoid the cow or buffalo??
And of course, What if the animals get hurt??

I think animals like cats and dogs treat it as a game...kinda, catch me if you can, type...with the drivers.
Cows and buffaloes, we can do nothing about them. They are worshiped here. Animals do get hurt, and killed. Not the large ones, but plenty of dogs and cats...get killed.

@sickly09 Unfortunately, yes....cows and buffaloes are not such an issue because they are slow moving animals, they walk in herds or even if alone, they are visible, and we know we have to avoid them, they will not move even if we get close enough. The dogs and cats......they move erratically. And let us get very close to them. We expect them to move, but at times they don't. At other times, they move away in fraction of seconds.
