Sunset & Cows ~ A Peaceful Ending

A peaceful scene here with the sunset and a few cows. A neighbor has a farm nearby. Saw this as I was headed to Sonic for an ice cream yesterday evening.
Sunsets are always so calming. Another day gone. And hope for a new tomorrow.
The cows are a way of life for many here. I wish the farmers the best. It is a hard life. Many are selling the farms lately as the home builders are looking for anywhere to build a new apartment, condo, and/or house. Too many people moving in the area.
Hoping to enjoy these peaceful scenes for awhile longer.
Photo is mine. Snapped from inside the car.

This place seems to have exploded with housing developments and new apartments sprouting up like weeds. So I know what you mean. While there's nothing wrong with expansion, I wonder if there will ever be any green left.

@CarolDM I know. But I also wonder how we're supposed to survive without farms. Don't people realize farms is where their food comes from? Where is there going to be common ground?

@kaylachan Maybe they think we can get the meat from China. Ha! I don't see or read anything that makes sense these days.

My grandparents were cattle farmers. It's a life that I've always admired! I love farm animals, especially cows

@CarolDM At times, the calves needed to be bottle fed. The mother didn't have enough milk, or it hadn't come in yet. I was so thrilled, being asked to bottle feed a calf!

Nice and laid-back life. I live in Idaho and there are a lot of farmers here. It's so peaceful to drive through the rural areas here.

Letting Farmlands go off and having High rises or Condos instead of them is becoming so commonplace in Urban and Suburban areas in and around main Indian cities as well.
However it's a change of a complete ecosystem.
Too rapid change is detrimental to Environment, air, land and water.
Yet many urban planners do not pay much heed to this fact!
Long talk for that some other time.
The above picture speaks by itself. Simple, calming yet so much to tell.
Somehow it reminds me of my older school days when I used to play Cricket with my brother in nearby parks.
Great share !!

I have about a 12 mile drive from my house to where I work, and it's a straight shot along a rural road with lots of farms on both sides (both cows and crops). Most of the crops are corn right now, and before that it was pumpkins. I've noticed more and more of the cow fields are giving way to crop farms. And unfortunately, because of the explosive growth of the population here in Florida, it won't be long before all those farms and fields are nothing but houses. Our city just approved plans for a 7000+ housing development, and a neighboring town just approved plans for another 2000 homes. I don't know how all these people can afford homes right now with the interest rates and inflationary prices being as high as they are.

@CarolDM I was just talking to my daughter about the crazy growth. About 10 years ago, the state built a new toll highway in Orlando that basically curved its way around the west side of Disney World, but out in the middle of nowhere. We called it our secret back way into Disney, because nobody knew about it or drove on the toll road. The area was nothing but cow pastures and orange groves. Now, it's nothing but houses, shopping centers, schools and hotels, and bumper to bumper traffic on the toll road. But we still call it our secret back way in to Disney, because people still don't realize it's the easiest way to get to the theme parks.

@moffittjc No secrets any more. We have so many moving to the area, not enough room for them. But let's leave the border open for even more to come in. Shaking my head up here at the insanity.

The scenery is calm and beautiful. Farmers and agriculture is dwindling even in India because people want high rise buildings.

@CarolDM We can solve this problem by building shelter homes for them.

@aninditasen Not working here. Too many houses being built. And high rise buildings in the metropolitan areas. Our border is open and millions are coming through. We can't even take care of our own citizens, let alone immigrants.

With so many allowed to enter the U.S. I fear beautiful scenery like that will be a thing of the past. Replaced by highways, department stores and congestion. Nature and spacious landscapes will be few and far between

@CarolDM bet on that. Nowadays wherever you see people want bling. They want to be rich, settle in big cities. Everyone wants to look beautiful rich and ultra fashionable. I miss those days where we use to take our bicycles and lie under the tree watching planes flying over blue skies, making cloud bunnies and eating sandwiches with friends before returning home.

What a lovely scene. We are lucky that a lot of land is tied up with nurseries. It limits the amount of new housing in the area.

That's a beautiful picture. Really scenic and serene.
I am scared that with this sort of urbanization and population expansion, we would be left with no or less such farms. Land acquisition from farmers happens here too for urbanization and development.
