I am not that familiar with the Greater Los Angeles region in terms of the population of mountain lions running around in the neighborhood which did cause a lockdown of the Brentwood Science Magnet Elementary School on Thursday. morning. After the Los Angeles police responded to the emergency calls from the concerned citizens saw the loose mountain loose near a country club in the Brentwood region. The Los Angeles Police Department then the police called the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to see if they could tranquilize the loose mountain lion. The mountain lion knowing that the wildlife officials were ready to tranquilize him, the mountain lion managed to run away from them and hide from them for several hours until the wildlife officials managed to tranquilize the mountain lion near a golf course. After the mountain lion was knocked out, he was taken by the animal controls via a truck to another area outside of the city limits where the mountain lion will be back in his home in the mountains. Thanks to the actions of the wildlife officials and the police, no one was injured in the incident.

I have seen the news reports on the internet of deaths that happen when humans run into mountain lions.

@Nakitakona I am in agreement with you that dying at the hands of a mountain lion is terrible. Mountain lions scare me.

They have a tendency to roam when their habitat is changed or invaded by development. Illinois had one this past week again. We have bobcats, but not often mountain lions.

It is a shame that animals are losing their homes in the name of progress.

That could be true since Los Angeles is a party town.

It wouldn't be good to have a mountain lion roaming free in a built-up area.

I used to live in Westwood which is south of Brentwood. There are a number of very big houses in Brentwood, with large lawns, and it is close to the mountains that have wildlife. If you want to live there, you have to put up with the mountain lions. They have a right to live too!

Even though I am not that familiar with the Los Angeles area, I think many stories of mountain lions have attacked other animals and humans are in the mountain areas where you used to live at. Every city has it share of animals who come to visit cities like bears in California.

Wildlife officials are asking the leaders in their cities that unless the homes of animals are left alone. many animal attacks on humans will increase.

It is getting scary that police also have to deal with loose animals on the streets as well as criminals.

That explains why there are many stories of deaths among humans who get in the way of the mountain lion in the mountains.
