Digital payments in malls sometimes puts you in trouble.

I visited the Reliance Smart store/mall on Saturday (29.10.22) after collecting my spectacles from the hospital to make some purchases. I paid them through UPI. Money got deducted from my account but didn't show in their computer. My son had to repay the amount in cash. They said that the stuck money would get refunded within 48 hours but it's past 48 hours and my money has not be refunded. I complained to their customer care but they are still beating round the bush.
I think I shall wait for a day or two and if I don't get the money I shall have to inform the police. It's actually the store staff who are playing the fool.
Have you ever faced such a situation?

Nope but when I made a withdrawal from ATM the money wasn't dispensed. It's deducted from my bank balance.

Oh dear that is terrible. I am so sorry this happened and I hope you will get satisfaction.
You are right, this is theft if they do not refund.
I have had problems with refunds a few times but it always resolved.

The bank has no fault because my UPI transaction even showed the receipt. That means they have received the money. There must be some problem with there system.

@aninditasen These kind of unsuccessful transaction, remain stuck in the payment gateway. I hope you find a way to get them back without much hassle.

I have had to wait for payments before, but I always got them at some point. Maybe online there was something I didn't get paid for once or twice,,,but those kinds of things are hard to prosecute.

Yes, I had to pursue Meesho for long to get my money. I don't know how long Reliance smart will take.
