Enjoyed being outside most all day today. Was in the screen room just now. Both cats were snoozing of course. I watched the Dude slowly walk over to where Brendel was sleeping. He thought he was being sneaky. He smelled around her chair. Turned his head slightly. And then lifted his paw to smack her. But she was faster. She is half his size but she is the Boss. And she lets him know. No hissing this time. He knows not to talk to the paw. Too funny to watch them. She will always have the upper hand. Or should I say the upper paw. A funny time with the cats. Are they still "playing" when hissing is involved? Kitty ALWAYS beats me up the stairs when I come home. And only by a couple of feet. On purpose. I think she's taunting me.

No, the hissing is a warning sign. And Brendel (in the chair) is the only one that hisses. The Dude knows better. They love to play.

We have a pair of white kittens Duchess Fiona and Duke Storm who are play fighting all the time. Duchess is more active than her brother at this point. Not sure how that will go in the future, he could become a pretty big tomcat before he's done growing.

@CarolDM Poor kitty. We had an orange cat named Leah who we rescued as a sick feral. She was inbred though and even though she was an intelligent and well-behaved cat she suffered congestive heart failure before she was a year old.

They get along most of the time. Just playing until Brendel started hissing. She turned 12 this year and prefers to be left alone. The Dude walked away mumbling.

Cats are so fun to watch. We have two kittens and the two of them and their mom roll and tumble all over the house. We don't hear any hissing. Those cats look big.
