Cooking down some apples

I didn't make my usual cinnamon apple yogurt parfait jars last weekend because I was busy with other cooking projects. As a result my breakfasts so far this week have been not so great. Today I had a Zone bar. Soooo I am cooking down 2 apples that need to be used with turbinado sugar, water, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Once that is like a chunky applesauce and cooled I will layer plain Greek yogurt, the cooked apple mixture, and then fresh diced Granny Smith apple into small mason jars. When I get to work in the morning I will add granola that I have in my desk. It is a tasty breakfast!

We didn't have many apples this year so we haven't had so many to use. What's turbinado sugar?

I can't handle plain yogurt, even with fruit in it; but your mixture sounds good.
