Another Check on my Bucket List

My older daughter knows I love experience gifts more than receiving items... items I may not need or use. Though I always like a bouquet of flowers. My 60th birthday was October 30th (no, I didn't get flowers), and a gathering was planned at my home to celebrate. My older daughter, however, had booked herself a trip away. Why she did it on a weekend knowing it was a milestone birthday for me is beyond me. Before she left she gave me a few treats, a card, and a picture of what she was giving me for a gift. Holy smokes! My bucket list is shrinking. She took me bungee jumping this past Friday. Above is a picture from the video she took from the sidelines (she jumped before me). I am attaching the link to the video. I would like to go again but possibly from a higher perch. This was over way too quickly. I asked to be dunked in the water, just didn't think I'd get wet almost to my waist! Do you have a bucket list? How are you doing at achieving all you want to do? Note: My videos are NOT monetized. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMW8HJHs1v0

I know you had a blast. Happy Birthday a little late by the way. I have friends that go bungee jumping every summer. They love it.

@CarolDM I don't even think there was so much as an adrenaline rush as just fun. It was over way to quickly.

I'd do it again. Gotta raise the stakes though and go higher.

How exciting! I wouldn't be able to have the nerve to do it, but I'm always thrilled when other people can.

It really wasn't much. I think walking across that crane was the scariest part.

@spiderdust I have great anxiety, especially social anxiety and travel anxiety. I had a rough morning at the hotel but once I was on the road I was calm. I need to keep myself busy before doing stuff that give me anxiety.

@patgalca Yeah, I don't know if my nerves would let me do it!

It's always good to get those things checked off. And glad you had a good time.

Life is short. I've spent many years hiding in my home because of my illness (apart from my years as a soccer mom), and even more so due to the pandemic. Time is running out. I have to have some fun.

I'm glad you got something you really wanted and you obviously enjoyed it. I have trouble looking out windows on upper floors of buildings.

Then you wouldn't be able to handle walking around on the outside of the top of the CN Tower in Toronto. That was a real blast.

@patgalca You're right, I couldn't manage that. I even approach the edges of cliffs on my stomach.

A belated Happy Birthday. Bungee jumping isn't on my bucket list and wasn't when I was 60 either! But I'm glad you enjoyed it.

There are some things that were on, got taken off. Some that weren't on there, but I added. Bungee jumping wasn't originally on my bucket list.

To be honest, skydiving was more exciting. But it was fun socializing, however briefly, with the other participants and the workers. Looking up at that cliff I wondered if they had a chair lift (they also had zip lining there), but no. It was a bit of a hike up a rocky mountain side. Something this old body had trouble with. But I survived.

@patgalca You did great. I will be 60 in March. I would like to go skydiving too. That would be very exciting.

Sounds like you had fun. I don’t have a bucket list. Love my peaceful life at home. I absolutely have no interest in bungee jumping.
