How Often Do You Buy Shoes?

When I was working, I loved buying shoes. I bought whenever I saw shoes l like or when they were on sale. I bought shoes every 3-4 months. Now, I am retired, I only buy to replace worn out ones. I have two pairs of sneakers for walking, two casual shoes for gatherings, and a few formal shoes for singing performances at concerts.

While I was working, when I saw comfortable shoes that I liked, I bought three or four pair of the same shoe. I like to switch my shoes every day so I don't have a problem with foot odor. (I have three pair of the exact same tennis shoe I wore to work every day. One pair of dressy shoes, one pair of house slippers that I never wear and one pair of snow boots I haven't worn in two years, since I retired.)
I don't buy new shoes until the ones I'm wearing start wearing out. Maybe every year and a half for work shoes. The dressy shoes are about five years old and the snow boots are about five years old.
Edit to add: I also have two pair of sandals, one pair black and one pair brown.

@Beestring I wear the sandals the most often, as soon as the temps outside allow it.

I buy more often than I should. The past Sunday, I have filled a bag and went to the donation station to deposit the shoes I do not wear anymore. They are still very good, but I do not go out often now, I do not need so many high heels elegant shoes.

@Beestring I still have some I am going to donate. They are still inside their original box. I am sure some women will be more than happy to have them.

@LadyDuck Are there shoes you bought but never wore? I have 2-3 pairs I bought, but only wore once because I found them uncomfortable.

Like you I had quite a few pairs of shoes that I wore to work. Since I've retired I don't have much need for fancy shoes anymore and just have a few pairs of casual shoes and of course sneakers. If I got invited somewhere that I needed dressy shoes I'd probably have to go out and buy a new pair.

Yes, I buy much less nowadays. Just buy when I need to replace worn out ones.

I do not buy them much. Two pairs I needed to buy a pair in winter. I bought a pair I really like and now need another pair for winter. Since I lost a lot of weight I am more of a person that likes to buy clothes and hats.

No, to either. Diets do not work. I use to do them and lost weight but would always gain it back. I took a look at myself in the mirror about 5 years ago and started my weight loss journey. I have been on it since. I used to lose weight for others and gain it back and finally, I did it for myself and now I am keeping it off. I walk and exercise at home both on my own and online.

I see. Why you lost a lot of weight? Are you on diet or health issues?

When I was at work,I frequently bought leather shoes. Now those leather shoes take a back seat to Old Beijing cloth shoes.
