I wonder if there's snow on Mt. Diablo.

Mt. Diablo is "our mountain." It rises almost 4000 feet above Walnut Creek, where I live. Actually, its elevation is only about 3850, and I'm at maybe 300 feet, but you get the idea.
When it's rainy and cold down here on the flats, where coyotes rarely roam, it can be snowing up there. This morning, it was in the mid-40s F here, with pretty steady showers, meaning it might have been cold (and wet) enough for snow up there.
The rain has stopped, but the mountain still has not lifted her skirts (a pretty obscure literary/musical reference--I'll link it for @FourWalls if she doesn't recognize it), so I don't know if there's snow up there or not.
I'll attach a photo (if I can find it) of one of my kid clients with me on a Winter hike a few years back. He had never seen snow before.
Are there MyLotters who have never been in the snow? That just occurred to me.

I like how you put "our mountain" in quotation marks. Our nearest mountains are the Cobequid Mountains (some say hills). The tallest peak is a whopping 1198 ft and it is so impressive no one ever bothered to name it. One thing that is pretty much guaranteed here is that if there is snow on the mountains it's in the valleys too.

When I lived in Hamilton, I lived "on the mountain"... the Niagara Escarpment divides 'The Hammer' into upper and lower city.

@BarBaraPrz I'm originally from the little town of Fenwick. I know the Niagara Escarpment well. My parents used to be members of the Bruce Trail Club and the Ticats are still my favourite CFL team.

Does it ever snow at your elevation? I'd be more than happy to let you come and shovel my driveway when we get a couple of feet of snow here, pony.
I hope you've been enjoying your day today.

@TheHorse I don't mind mowing the yard or vacuuming but I don't want to shovel snow. It's too cold... And now, I don't have to shovel snow anymore.

Cute picture. I've had my share of s**w, thank you. Did I tell you the story about our trip to the Timberline Lodge? Hot and sunny down below...s**wing on the mountain!

@LindaOHio Interesting information! Do they tell you where the "inside" scenes were filmed?

@TheHorse That's right. The inside of the lodge wasn't anything like the movie. Another hotel was used for that. It was actually very cramped inside.

There are probably quite a few who have never seen snow. However, I have seen snow and I did not have to go up the mountain to do so.

I have been told there have been flurries here and there over the years, but I don't think I've ever seen real snow.

@TheHorse I hear snow is more common around the panhandle. So, I don't really know. I have been told a few times it's flurried here where I live for a couple hours. It's so rare, some of us just stop and stare.

@kaylachan I would stop and stare if it snowed here at my house.

No, I don’t know that line. I heard there’s blizzard watches out up north of you, which will no doubt affect your crop of dental floss in Montana.

@TheHorse — I know who Bryan is. There’s a story in the Steve Goodman biography how he heard Bryan’s recording of “Walking in Jerusalem” and said “it needs a third vocal,” so Steve paid for the session to put the third vocal on the song.

I'll have to check in with my buddy up there in Montana. Here's the song. It's about Seattle. I lived there for one year and met this guy in a bar. But I already knew his music He was really chill to talk to.

@FourWalls I hadn't heard that! Somewhere on my computer is a version of me doing all three parts on that song. I was drunk. I have actually performed that song several times. Like Vanny's maids, good harmony vocalists are so hard to find.

@TheHorse We all enjoyed seeing the snow on the ground as well as seeing the snow falling from the sky.

What a sweet picture, he was happy to see snow for the first time! Myself, I've lived in Michigan for 71 years. Snow is as common as 'dirt' in this state! We have snow about five months out of the year.

I smiled at how you referred to the mountain. All the while, I thought you lived by the seaside. . There's no snow all year round in our country. But I once saw snow on one of my vacations in the U.S. because my relative purposely brought me to Snowy Peak, just so I could touch and roll in the snow.
It was not what I expected, Snow was just like the shaved ice they use in our halo-halo here. Shaved ice and lots of sweet ingredients. I had thought it would be hard as stone, but it was not. Not disappointed though. I lived it.

I miss snow after five years in Florida. You know that mountain Diablo always made me picture it like the devil with two horns

No, I never saw snow before. To see snow we have to go to the northern most part of India called Himalayas.
