Thanks to the efforts to the Richmond Animal Care And Control (RACC) and the Richmond Fire Department who worked together to rescue a "Goofy malamute" who fell down a 50 foot embankment in the James River.
The dog was stranded next to the river last Thursday afternoon. The RACC officials needed the assistance of the Richmond Fire Department to rescue the dog since the firefighters used a boat to rescue the dog.
After the firefighters rescued the dog, they handed the dog to an official with RACC who was able to find the owner of the dog and reunite the dog with his owner the same day after it was determined that the dog did not suffer any serious injuries from the fall from the embankment.

@RubyHawk That is true since the only time they make the news cycle is when they are involved in contract disputes with their employers.

That is true since the only way that the dog could be rescued was by boat.
