Calculating time in Ancient indian way

In the olden days, people used to calculate time-based on this Rocky craving.
A sundial is a device that can tell you what time it is depending on where the Sun casts its shadow on the sundial. A sundial is made up of two parts: a flat circular plate and a stick called a gnomon. The gnomon casts a shadow on the plate and this shadow shows the time.
Even today, in many of the ancient temples you can find it. If the sky is clear and the sun is bright depending on the shadow of the needle they use to predict the time.
