Another pretty day before wind, rain and temps in the 30s comes in on Saturday. Winter time must be on the way. It was a little windy here today. Squirrels were scurrying up and down trees but didn’t stop long enough for me to get a picture.
I had my usual long walk today, then came home and read Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe. I’ll probably finish it tonight and start the Anne Perry tomorrow . I made a couple of sugarless pies, one chocolate and one peanut butter. I had half apple pie left so I have plenty of pie.
Hope you guys had had a good day. I’ll finish my comments now.

It sounds like a really nice day, a little bit outside enjoying the last of the dry autumn weather and a little bit of inside baking. Those are nice days.
I spent quite a few hours in bed today resting. I feel a bit better, but when my hubby came home he said that my voice is as weak and hoarse as it was yesterday. I might be wishful thinking, another day of R&R is for me tomorrow.

@RubyHawk Yes, I take a test daily.
According to the news there is a terrible respiratory bug making its way, not the flu and not covid, I probably got that and it turned into pneumonia right away. My lungs are my weakest point in my body.
Today is day #9 and I wish to get over it soon, but it is slow to leave.

@Juliaacv You take it easy and rest in bed. My daughter in law called me this morning. She’d taken my grandson to the doctor. He has a respiratory infection. He’s coughing and throwing up. I was afraid he had covid but this sounds as bad as covid or worse.

Sugarless Pies, Chocolate and Peanut Butter sound quite nice!
"Midnight at the Blackbird Cafe" - what kind of a book is it?
Is it a Mystery genre book?
The Trees and the Stream above look like a place where I would want to go and relish the surroundings.
Enjoy your Wednesday!!

May be you can come up with a short Book Review here, in your own language when you finish it.
I have done some personal book reviews, although a full Writer style review can be a task by itself.
Today we had cold winds in the morning and 13 C moght not sound very low but coming from a place where summers and 40 C plus is common, adjusting to such temperatures can be a challenge initially.

Yeah at times, niche topics don't work well here.

Any dessert without sugar may not be my choice.

@RubyHawk Fortunately I have less sugar in my blood and so I can have as much as I want to but no I keep to limits.

@allknowing It's always to keep to your limits, unfortunately I went a little overboard.

@RubyHawk I love pecan pie if it isn't too sweet, too.

@GrannyGee Pecan pie is my very favorite pie, but it's so sweet. My sister makes the best pecan pie you'll ever taste.

That is a beautiful picture. I used to live in Demorest and enjoyed it this time of year.

@Chellezhere I’m glad you like it. I’m happy that we usually have light snows but sometimes we’re surprised with a big one.

It sounds like a nice day. Be careful when you are out walking like that. I hope you have your phone with you in case of trouble. It might not hurt to have pepper spray too.

@RubyHawk It probably is, but what if you slipped on the rocks or something? It is a good thing you have your phone though...that will go a long way toward protecting you. I used to carry a walking stick along with my phone as the one street I walk on is a bit isolated and there is woods all on one side, plus these people I don't like are always messing around with their dogs. However, I decided I didn't want to look paranoid.

It’s a very safe place to walk but I always have my phone with me. The creek is behind our apartment complex and the trail continues behind the apartments on through the next complex. A few of us walk the trail every day and some renters never go further than the parking lot. It’s the main thing I like about the apartments.

@snowy22315 I used to walk at the park that’s in the woods and isolated with a two mile trail. That’s what I liked about it , but since Leo passed away I stay closer to home and I’ve learned to love my walks here. But I never go out without my phone. It’s my lifeline.
