What a scary thing to happen. Many babies lose their lives when they stop breathing. They were lucky the officer didn't give up on the baby.

My sister used a monitor and a device to keep track of her baby's heart beat and breathing. She was responsible and careful. She once had to tap the baby because the device showed some signs of emergency, the baby maybe got choked or some breathing problem, when sleeping. My sister woke up the baby and the signs of emergency went back to normal.

@stringer321 I think a lot of new parents use the monitor and it’s saved many babies lives. My granddaughter was premature and she had a monitor for several weeks.

It is very important to know first aid for choking emergency. In my workplace, we get every 6 month a reminder about how to help someone who is choked, we are told about the Heimlich maneuver, or back blows. How to use a defibrilator, how to help in case someone lose consciousness. I saved my grandmother with back tapping: we watched tv, and suddenly she started coughing, and struggled breathing. I gave her taps on her back and she got to breath again. It sometimes happen when the throat just makes some liquid that goes to the trachea without noticing. One time, my nephew ate an orange, he got choked too, my brother gave him some blows on the back, and the orange piece went out. What is the RSV that the baby got diagnosed with ?

@Deepizzaguy Thanks for explaining. Who knows if the virus showed some early symptoms before making the baby choking. I see the website cdc.gov says that this virus is transmitted by the same ways as the covid-19. We all have to be careful.

@stringer321 I am very careful since a small head cold can turn into a serious illness.

That's wonderful. All police officers should get life saving first aid training.

I think that in my nation it is mandatory that all police officers learn first aid skills at the police academy.

@aninditasen It is better to be trained into using life saving skills to work as a law enforcement officer and firefighter.

So am I since police officers need all of the good publicity they can get from the news to offset the few rotten apples on the force.
