Good morning from this side of the planet . It's 7:15 AM as I write this post. Woke up to another damp morning after a night long drizzling and shower. Now the sun is peeping through the clouds and seems that we might have some sunlight today. Well, I am hoping for that. It's early morning and I am mylotting in the morning on a weekday . Very unusual . I should be in the morning rush to go to work but I am not. A mail from my workplace last evening made me go slow. On Monday, I just have one session with one child from Middle school. And then a couple of meetings with parents to discuss the weekly progress and one meeting with kindergarten teachers as admin coordinator to go ahead with week's plan. My child from the Middle school is out this week for a sports tournament. He is excelling with his table tennis and making everyone proud in the Interschool competition. His dyslexia makes academic hard but he is improving there too with boost in his self esteem and confidence from his games. I would see him only next week. That means I have another session free on Thursday with him. Another set of parents called off the meeting. We recently had PTM and we discussed things in detail. They would like to skip this weekly update this time as they are caught up with some sickness in the family. So, I just have a meeting with Kindergarten teacher at 2:30. It's actually scheduled for 11:30 but she requested it to be pushed to next half. She wanted to get few things done before meeting me. And since we are meeting on Zoom from the comfort of our home, time is no constraint . Well, thanks to technology, I don't need to step out to work on this damp morning. . If the sun comes out well in some time, I plan to go fir a long walk with my husband in a while or else I would do some indoor exercises. My daughter and niece have left for their colleges. I am done with cooking and morning chores. Since most of my morning is free with no chore, I would do some work on online sites Some finance tracking and paying few bills are also on my to do list . Catch you later. Moving on to the notifications for a while. Take care. Stay happy and healthy in your mylot corner.

Yes, I get up with a plan in mind unless I decide to go lazy on weekends and holidays. That helps me stay focused. Without a plan, I am like a headless chicken. Have a good time in your mylot corner

I am glad that you can schedule your meetings on Zoom, a much safer way than meeting in person. I will do online banking and pay bill at the end of this week, I wait to receive everything, so I do not need to log in too many times.

@arunima25 I have nothing to pay before November 24th, but I will pay earlier, to avoid last minute problems.

@LadyDuck I do the same. It is good to do it before time. Even I don't like the last minute problem.

Technology is a boon at times. I could avoid all morning rush for one meeting. It's 2 PM and it will start in some time. I have to do some bill payment through Net banking. But my bank server is down, under service right now. I will check again in the late afternoon to see if it's available. I want to finish that work.

Retreating monsoon. Bangalore anyway is moody when it comes to weather and here it rains throughout the year. We are having rain in the last few days due to the coastal storm in Chennai.

@LindaOHio Oh! I see. I know that winters are long and harsh in your part. Please take care and stay warm. Snow looks beautiful for some time but then too much of it can put life to standstill.

Zoom meetings are nice. Kids with dyslexia have their strengths too.

Yes, it saved me from the morning rush to be at work for one meeting. Technology is a boon at times . You are right. I personally vouch on that. Children with special needs come with their own strengths.

You have a unique teaching experience I notice - interaction with a single student for example is not common. And then I thought you were teaching the little ones but this student belongs to the middle school Explain, explain (lol)

@allknowing Thank you. Now a days, they are acknowledging the children who need help and that's a positive sign. Society and schools are more accepting towards differently abled children. There is a good demand of special educators now

It's a long explanation. When I switched from Biotechnology to education after my two daughters were born, I did a Montessori course for age group of 2_6. I worked there in an Inclusive environment ( few special needs were there). I got interested in special needs children and did a course to become special educator and then a certificate course to be counselor. I used to run an evening therapy center at my home thrice a week in the evening till the Covid lockdown. As I worked with special needs, I kept learning more like art and movement therapy etc. Being a special educator, I can work with children in age group of 2_21 years . In this school, I have two autistic children under the age of 10. I take one to one sessions with them. They become part of the regular class for rest of the time with a shadow teacher. Other than that, when teachers feel that some child needs extra hand holding, they send them to me for some time for few sessions. Last two years, I helped two children prepare for board exams after school time. They struggled academically. Also, I do art as therapy for children in groups. Work as a counselor of the school to help children even from High school and also counsel families, especially those having special needs children. So, a lot to keep me busy there.
