I went to Netflix to see if there were any interesting docs or movies I could watch before going to bed. The first, one to come up is "Where the Crawdad Sings". I had watched to see it since I saw the trailers for it several months ago. And I wasn't disappointed. It was such a good movie. It is about a family living in the swamps of North Carolina. The father is abusive. The mother finally leaves. Then the two older kids leave. Then the one nearest Kya's age leaves. She is left with her drunkard dad. He is good to her for a while and then he leaves too. She is about nine or ten I guess and is left all alone in the swamps. As she grows older she has some extreme experiences and also learns she has an incredible gift. The story is extraordinary and I enjoyed it very much. If you get a chance you should watch it.

I plan on it. This was a book club book for the group here. They were all excited to see the movie when it came out after they read the book and weren't disappointed. I didn't see it then, but now that it's on Netflix, I plan on it.

@just4him .......I always think that the book is better than the movie.

I may rejoin Netflix in the future so I can watch Manifest. I will keep this movie in mind as well. Thank you for the review and critique.
