No more baby blue eyes

Oh what a cute lil face Tuffy has. Ok, I'm a little bias, to me he is soooooo cute. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Recently I read an article about baby eyes and according to that article all babies are born with blue eyes, I'm not sure if that's actually true but in the case of Tuffy it is. It claims that kittens eye change color at about 7 weeks old. As you can see in the right photo taken on October 10 he had baby blue eyes and in the one I took on November 9 his eyes have changed color. I was hoping he'd be one of those rare kitties that has blue eyes but it seems he will probably end up with grey/green eyes. Well, they're pretty either way.

Oh wow - what a difference a month makes - he sure has changed (though he's still sooooooooo cute). My daughter actually had a royal blue quality to her eyes when she was born (after a few weeks they turned a darker brownish).

@rebelann Yep - hers is brown but not as dark as mine. My family does have a coppery-ness to our eye colors in the light . . . but I noticed as we age it is less of that. It kinda goes to a grayish tone.

Oh copper brown is so very pretty. Mom's eyes changed too. They became a dull green as she got older.

Oh wow, I'll bet they were beautiful. So she has brown eyes now? Brown eyes are beautiful too, I especially like the ones that look like they have gold intermixed in them.

I was hoping he would have blue eyes as an adult but it looks like his eyes might become gray or green or something in between.

Yes they are. But cats with blue eyes is rare so I had hoped for the blue.

Oh wow his eyes really have changed so much. We are getting the Siamese kitten back for good today or tomorrow and I will have to see what his eyes look like. I don’t think his were as bright blue as Tuffy’s

@rebelann could be. I always thought Siamese and Himalayan kept the bright blue eyes like when Tuffy was a baby. I learned something today.

You can really see how Tuffy is growing up when you do these side by side photos. Still a beautiful and adoring kitty.

I think he has actually doubled in size. Soon I'll have to check if he is old enough to be neutered.

It seems that it is true also in humans. Tuffy eyes have changed but still beautiful eyes. I think he will end up with grey/green. So he should be a little older than 7 weeks now.

I have estimated that he was probably born around September 6 so he is probably about 10 weeks or so now. I wonder if brown eyed children are also born with blue eyes

Tuffy is so adorable. My Sydney has blue eyes, Ringo green, and I am no sure about Michelle I have not looked into here eyes lately but I think they are yellowish which looks awesome in a completely black cat,

Oh yes those golden eyes are beautiful but I recall seeing a black cat decades ago with blue eyes and boy was he striking.

I remember the same thing happening to the puppies Rebel had back in 1981, all of them had blue eyes at first.
