I just realized that it may not be easy for me to play the PC games anymore

Lately I saw a Mylotter's discussion about a game called The Sims. I like this game very much and in the past I enjoyed playing it.
I remember I bought this PC game and it contains a CD. I just realized that it was not easy for me to play it again since today my PC doesn't have a CD/DVD ROM
I think I am quite outdated about the PC games today. Perhaps today they don't sell CD/DVD versions, perhaps they allow buyers to download or something like that. I am not sure since I haven't played PC games for quite a long time.

Yes, today, you can go directly to site, too. Games in facebook, greatergood.com , I know you can just go to site and play. Both needs you to get free account.

I have never been able to play games only once when I was looking after my dying Mother. RIP

They still sell the CD/DVD copies of the games but you can also get the online version of the game that doesn't require the CD/DVD to load the game. If you still have your disks, you can buy a CD/DVD player that plugs into your USB ports on your laptop and load the disk that way. In the US, the plug-in player costs about $50. It's a common attachment for a laptop.

@youless My last laptop didn't have a CD/DVD ROM, so I bought a disk player and a friend gave me a disk player. I still have two of them even though the laptop I use now already has one.
I'd rather own the disk, too.

I remember my kids playing those Sims games.
I don't know if people play those PC games anymore or if everyone plays games on their phones

I haven't played PC games in a very long while. My nephew's kids play The Sims online.

That's right, it seems like now most games are available for purchase to download. Maybe only a few provide cd/dvd
