My photo from the hike the other day.

Rob and I hiked to an old (10 million years old) volcano the other day. It was pretty cool. I attached a black and white photo he took of a crater that had been mined in the last 100 years. But I like trees. On the way to the old volcano, we passed through some pine and eucalyptus trees that were quite pretty. Today went well enough at Guitar Center. I sold a couple of guitars and signed up a father.son combination for lessons. I also brought some coffee and enjoyed a maple glazed doughnut, as planned. I also got some more work done on the Acoustic Research AR-4xs that were rescued from a street corner before it rained the other day. I did NOT: a) make love to a beautiful French girl who likes discussing physics; b) find a publisher for my book; c) get through to my old friend, Mark, who played in an Irish band with me when I was in Grad School in Santa Barbara; d) watch any sports. But I'll take what I can get. How was your Saturday?

Well, if it’ll make you feel better, I didn’t do any of those things today, either. Especially A. I have no interest in that. (That’s heterosexuality for you. ) The trees are quite beautiful.

Why not? Aren't you a youngun'? Hiking uphill hurts my aging lower back. But I survive.

@TheHorse Hiking up a slight incline in front of our house for a block hurts my lower back, but I am not a youngun at 84. I do it anyway, because I hope someday it will become easier and it's good for my heart.

My Saturday was snowy and cold so I stayed home instead of going to a neighborhood thing.

It's chilly here this morning (in the 30s F) but I wouldn't describe it as "cold." No precip, though.

The cold days are coming. We went out for a walk, but we only stayed out less than 30 minutes, my husband cannot stand the cold.

We've been to a fete. I bought three succulents and some jams/chutneys, most of which will become Christmas presents.

@TheHorse A fair maybe? Food stalls, entertainment, craft stalls and, in this case, examples of the student's work.

Sorry about the French girl. We had a cold, albeit OK, Saturday. Went to Red Lobster for lunch/dinner. It was yummy; and we have enough left over for another meal.

Heh. Most of the time when I order or eat out, it turns into two or three meals.

I love all those lovely tall trees. Yesterday went by so quickly and with the time change when I looked down it was light out and when I looked up from the PC it was dark, I feel like I live in a dark tunnel now.
