Bad dog Pepper

Pepper is an elderly short-haired springer spaniel but being elderly doesn’t stop her getting into trouble. And she has blotted her copybook twice today (which means she’s been bad twice).
Firstly, we had a friend call in for afternoon tea and, as we escorted her out at the end of her visit, Pepper stayed behind to polish off the last two biscuits.
Not long after, Vince called from the living area and Pepper had brought in a skink (lizard). Luckily, Vince had it pinned (gently) against a cupboard and we were able to flip it into a bucket. We’ve seen the skink most days but this time it must have been a bit slow and Pepper managed to grab it.
Hopefully, that’s the last excitement for the day. Roll on tomorrow. The owners come home sometime in the evening. We’ll know more when they ring from the airport.
The photo is of the miscreant, Pepper.

Pepper is a lovely dog. He just couldn't resist the biscuits.

@LindaOHio That's so true. At one of the places, they had an avocado tree and we were forever watching to make sure the dog didn't get one.

@JudyEv There are surprisingly a lot of things that dogs shouldn't have.

Life would be boring if they behaved well all the time. Peppie has become cunning . He will let the other cats/kittens that visit us to eat from his bowls of dry feed and chicken feet. He is not fond of those tings. Then in the evening he will meow lustily wanting fish his favourite. And yours truly feels sorry and his wish is granted although fish is served only once in the morning.

@JudyEv But I must not spoil him, for the simple reason fish is not easily available here.

When I read " has blotted her copybook",I think to myself: How come a dog has a copybook? I didn't know the phrase before.

@JudyEv I have been interested in English colloquialism and phrases. For some rarely used ones,I have to write down them.

@changjiangzhibin89 Some older ones seem to go out of fashion and don't get used much, except perhaps by older people.

Pepper is lively to say the least and that is good in a way.

Pepper was just inviting her friend in for a visit. You had no right to throw the friend out of the house. In my opinion.

I think sometimes dogs like cats have days they just seem to get into a lot of trouble and then there are days when they are just the very best behaved,

Seems "Pesky" might be a more suitable name for Pepper.

Pepper is a famous dog character in children's book. The preschoolers and Montessori children in my school are in love with Pepper and love his stories. My daughters when young were a big fan too.
Pepper is a good looking pet and quite active for her age. Well, age is just a number for her

@JudyEv This one is really popular. They have a series of them. They come with some lovely messages and learnings for younger minds

Nico would be in hog heaven if he caught a skink, although mommy most certainly would not be.
