Hospital Processes

I rushed my son to the hospital last night. He had diarrhea and he keeps on vomitting. I was scared that he could be dehydrated so i decided to bring him to the emergency room. But to my dismay, i was not allowed to go inside and i spent the night sitting on a makeshift waiting area. I was surprised too when i was asked to pay for the PPEs used by the 3 nurses and the doctor in attending to my son. We also paid for the covid test. These were not covered by my son's health card. Processes in the hospitals now are very different from before. Luckily, we were allowed to go home at 5am this morning. He is now recovering at home.

PPE is personal protective equipment used by doctors and nurses to protect themselves from Covid. My son is okay now. He's taking his medicines. Thanks

First of all, glad to hear your son is ok and recovering at home. I would be outraged if I was charged for what the nurses and doctors were wearing. What a ripoff. This is most unfortunate to be taken advantage of. Your main concern should be with your son, not frustrated with the bill. Again, glad he is home now. I hope he ie better soon.

Wow that is odd. I’ve had diaherrea for 3 or 4 days now. Mine I’m pretty sure if stress related. I hope the hospital bill won’t be to high.

He has a medical card and i am really expecting that we have nothing to pay. Good that my daughters gave me money before we left home.

Wow, hospitals are taking Advantage of Covid still. Why they still charge you or make you pay the covid test? Just asking. Hope he recovers fast.

Covid test here is not freein all hospitals private or public. The one that really surprised me was the payment for the PPE or personal protective equipment. I asked them why do i have to pay for the PPE my son is not wearing PPE but they told me that it is for the ones used by the doctor and nurses who attended to him. I paid for 4 PPEs
