My Favorite Songs with an Emotion in the Title- 2

Let's continue that "Emotional Rescue" with some more of my favorite tunes. I'm still seeing a lot of teary titles, so I asked Joe Cocker to "Cry Me a River" of some more sad songs. It would be a "crying shame" if you did not like them, lol.
1. Cry Me a River- Joe Cocker
-This tune is rightfully overshadowed by Joe's cover of "With A Little Help from My Friends," but after listening to Cocker's live version I think it is every bit as good!
2. Driven to Tears- The Police
-Sting wrote this song in 1979 after viewing images of starving children living in poverty on the television. The tune was never released as a single but was featured in the 1985 Live Aid benefit concert. An excellent choice since the concert was to bring awareness of those starving children in Africa.
3. As Tears Go Buy- Rolling Stones
-This song is a very reflective ballad in sharp contrast to the Stones bluesy bad boy rocker image at the time. This melancholy tune is about growing old and wishing you could go back to those carefree childlike days again.
TRIVIA CHALLENGE
***Now for our trivia music challenge for those who like to play along. See if you can guess these selections. Words in "quote marks" provide valuable clues!
Name today's tune, artist or facts:
1. This artist is famous for being a member of some fabulous supergroups among them; "The Yardbirds, Cream and Blind Faith. " However, this song was written by the musician as a "solo artist" as a tribute to his "four-year-old son Conor, who died" in 1991, when he fell out of a 53rd floor window in New York City. Part of this song title references a "special place" where people go after dying to live with God in _____________. Add the "teary theme" and you got the song.
-Can you name this British artist and his song for his son?
2. This "teary song" was originally recorded by the "Miracles" in 1965 for Motown records. It is a gut-wrenching song about a man who tries to hide his pain but cannot conceal the "marks of his tears" from his crying. His relationship has ended with the love of his life, and he is putting on an act for her, for "that smile looks out of place," and "if you look closer" you can see his tears. This song was covered by other artists, including "this female" who started her iconic career with the "Stone Poneys." She has been called "The First Lady of Rock" and is the most successful "female singer of the 70's." This vocalist is known for covering such rock and country classics as: "Long Long Time, Heart Like a Wheel, When Will I Be Loved, It's So Easy and You're No Good."
-Can you name this female singer who was a success in both the Country and Rock genres and her cover of a very sad Miracle's song?
3. This song was recorded by "Little Anthony and the Imperials" in 1958. A great title for a song as I would imagine many a girl "cried herself to sleep" over a broken romance on this "soft fluffy object" used to "rest you head on at night." Little Anthony is a sobbing mess in this song, where he can't deal with the heartbreak.
-Can you figure out the song title from these clues? No "tears" if you can't.
I would "cry a bucket full of tears" if you cannot come up with any of these artists/songs on this quiz. If you're stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. Or, as Sam and Dave would say, "Hold On, I'm Comin."
Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! I will return with a new edition soon. Hope you can wait till then, lol. Stay tuned...

No need to be reduced to tears, I see some correct answers there!
#1- This English guitarist recorded the song "Layla" during his Derek & the Dominoes days which became his signature song.
"Lovely" Linda the first name of the artist for the 2nd answer recorded a country version of the tune "Blue Bayou" which became her signature song. She also recorded some great duets, "Somewhere Out There" with James Ingram and "Don't Know Much" with Aaron Neville.
Enjoy the Joe Cocker cover of this beautiful song!

1. After midnight he’s gonna lay down, Sally and shoot the sheriff! Seriously, “Tears in Heaven” is a very sad song, especially considering the backstory that caused Clapton to write it.
2. Ronda Lindstadt or something like that? Baby, take a good look at my face, you know my smile looks out of place, if you look closer it’s easy to trace the gutters where the tears run down!
3. Oh oh oh you don’t remember me but I remember you! Boo hoo on your fluffy bed thing! Ooh, what a great doo-wop song that will cause anything BUT tears on your pillow!

Well, the music maestro just "teared" through those artists and songs in an instant!
A nice Clapton list for sure, can I add "Let it Rain" one of my favorites. Linda's voice can definitely reduce one to tears. I love a great doo-wop song and that sure is one
