A yummy crunchy lunch...

Good afternoon from this side of the planet . It's 1:40 PM here and I just finished my yummy lunch . Feel like having afternoon siesta after my delicious meal, but I would wait for it to be 4 PM , my afternoon nap time. If I go to bed now, I might sleep longer and develop a headache. That's what happens if I sleep long in the daytime..I just need a 20_40 minutes power nap at 4. My daughter comes around 4:45 and by then I am refreshed after my nap.
The day started gloomy with drizzling. So, I stayed in bed late till 6:30 AM. I hate the lazy weather. But it was a quick morning in the kitchen. Husband has a lunch meeting with clients and my niece has gone for college outing again. So, I had to pack lunch for my daughter and I kept the same for myself. We had enough dosa ( a sort of pancake) batter from yesterday's breakfast and that was enough for today's too. . I made lemon rice ( a South Indian dish of rice that is tangy with lime juice) for lunch. And fried some papad ( what you see in the picture here). These papads are home made. My mom made them and they have long shelf life. They can stay for months if kept in air tight container away from moisture. You just have to deep fry them when you feel like munching on them. And the fried ones stay fresh for couple of days if kept in air tight container. There are varieties of papad. These ones are made from sago/ sabudana ( tapioca seeds). I packed some for my daughter too.
Though the meal was not so healthy, as it was loaded with only carbs, it's okay to have them once in a while as a treat to our taste buds.
I went to work with my colleague in the morning in her car as it was gloomy and drizzling. But then sun came around 10 AM. . And I enjoyed my walk back to home in the bright sun.
Weekend was a pleasant one with two bright sunny days in a row. I couldn't be much here on weekends as I chose to read sitting in the sun. .
Hope you all had a good weekend. And have a happy week ahead

Seems like winter has overstayed there. Enjoy these warm days. If I am not wrong, you are getting into summer and in the last couple of years, Australia had harsh summer and heat. Hope it is a good summer this year.

@arunima25 They are forecasting another really hot summer but it's only just arriving. Winter has hung on much longer than usual.

@JudyEv Hmm... let's hope that the prediction is wrong. But seeing the trend everywhere, winters are getting colder each year and summers are getting unusually hotter each year..

4pm seems to be my nap time too. Usually by then I'm in dire need of some sleep and then I can feel refreshed after a short nap.
Those papads look good and I bet they're delicious fried.

I am awake at 5 in the morning and keep going till 4 PM. I badly need a short nap to recharge myself for the rest of the evening. Else I might get cranky.
They are salty, spicy and crunchy. Definitely add some flavour and crunchiness to the meals.

@arunima25 I love riice papads but here they load them with a lot of salt. I have made sweet potato papads from those grown in our garden and that is history now

Even I had them after a long. I like papads with khichdi. But yesterday I wanted to have them with my lemon rice . My mom has given sago papad, urad daal ones and that of rice too. I like sago ones the most while husband loves rice ones. I have not tried sweet potato ones. I bet they must be yummy!
Weather these days is unpredictable and we get to see many unusual things.

Yes, once in a while we need to pamler our taste buds and uplift our mood. Even that is needed for mental health

Totally agree. It might not do good to body but definitely boosts up the mood. Mood and taste buds can not be the only ones to sacrifice every time
