Tuffy is living up to his name

Tuffy is living up to his name. Sorry my shot is so blurry.

His thing these days is attacking Roscoe and yesterday I heard Roscoe squeal, it looks like his ears are sensitive. Last night I had to reprimand Tuffy because he got under the covers somehow and attacked my foot ....... OUCH, that really hurt so I had to grab the little guy and kick him off the bed. My poor legs and that foot have multiple scratches on them, that's not gonna fly in this house so I will have to get super serious about training Tuffy NOT to use them thar claws and when the time comes that he starts to bite I'll lay into him for that. Yes, folks, cats can be trained.

Tuffy won't be a kitten for very long and all his little acts of unkindness will be gone. All kittens do those things.

You're right, he will grow out of the terrible kitten antics soon. He is learning that I don't tolerate scratching or biting me and I get the feeling pretty soon I'll have to protect Roscoe.

@rebelann Roscoe should be in a safe place, where kitty isn't able to go.

Well, if Tuffy gets too brave Roscoe is big enough to take him out so I need to curb kitties antics before he pisses him off too much.

Tuffy is only 3 months old and has learned not to use them on me when he knows it is my skin but he does not know when it is my foot under the covers, that is what I have to teach him.

Our cats never scratched or bit and we didn't allow them up on tables either.

Tuffy is learning he can't bite or scratch me and I've noticed that when he knows it's my skin he retracts his claws but he is only 3 months old so I still have a lot of work to do with him.

Tuffy is a roughneck. Yes, you need to nip some of that in the bud. Nico was horrible when he was a kitten about pouncing on my ankles. It could be really painful. Thank God we don't have that nonsense from a 4 and half year old.

He's learning that I won't tolerate those claws and up til now he hasn't tried to bite me but boy does he tear into Roscoe, I might have to intervene one day.

Yes, they can. But they need to be done differently than dogs. Cats have assertive memories, and if you try to discipline them, they take this as a sign to become afraid of you, because they think you're scary and will do them harm. Reward good behavior, ignore bad. If you want them to stop doing something, follow it up with something they can do. If your toes are a no-no, then get a cat scratcher or toy that act like your toes and place it nearby so he learns toes no, this yes.

The internet in my phone is acting up and I can't see the video. Hope that Tuffy is trained soon and stops these kind of acts.

He is learning but it will take a little longer to get him to completely stop. I am sorry about your connection, hopefully it will reconnect soon.

I'm so glad you think so. I'm working on training Tuffy not to bite or scratch and it seems to be working but not for Roscoe, he just tears into him at night and of course both are on the bed and poor Roscoe wants to protect me from that little tyke.
