Filling in the fiddly bits

In this photo, you can see the other end of the brick path we’ve been working on. This was laid by the man of the house before he had a bad accident. He hadn’t got around to filling in the fiddly edges down the right-hand side so that was my main role while we were there. It was quite tricky to cut the triangular-shaped pieces to fit in the gaps but in the end I was pleased with how it all worked out. It’s very satisfying when you finish a job and it looks neat. Using the brick-cutter left a lot of red, muddy water on the cement parking area which is out of the photo but thankfully, with a hose and a broom, we were able to wash it all clean again.

I don't deal with the levels and the heavy work. Spade-work is beyond me now.

@Marilynda1225 But we both knew it would look really good or Judy and Vince wouldn't have offered to do the work.

@BarBaraPrz It's satisfying to turn a rough piece of ground into a nicely paved area.

We've been doing similar things on and off for years now. It's just what you get used to and you learn (or are taught) as you go. Thanks for the good wishes. I hope your weekend is a pleasant one too.

Thanks. The slope of the ground was a challenge for the blokes but I didn't get involved with that.

No, my niece is an engineer and had a lot of paving, etc to do at her house so she bought her own brick-cutter.

I am sure it was not easy to cut the triangular shaped pieces, but you did a wonderful job, better than a professional.

@JudyEv - Professionals are interests by bigger projects, I know that it's hard to find someone for smaller things like that.

Thank you. A professional wouldn't really have been interested in such a small and quite fiddly, complex job. They could make a lot more building a house. Brick-layers are in high demand at the moment.
