No you're not misreading this, and yes I made a "New Years" like resolution on Thanksgiving. See for the past decade I tended to get in the Christmas mood. And it dawned on me that I spend all of Halloween and Christmas celebrating those holidays. And as you know from my past blogs, the party don't stop until the following week. So I wondered why I didn't do the same with Thanksgiving. So I spent the rest of Thanksgiving enjoying Thanksgiving Specials, and will make it a point to it next year. And the year after that, and the year after that.
