Got a lot done on this cloudy Saturday. Laundry done earlier. And more boxes ready for donations. Many needy families can be found this time of year.
Decided on an easy dinner. Tuna melt on sourdough bread. Amazing how something so simple can taste so good. And the homemade sourdough bread made it even better.
I enjoy my bread maker as well. Made a loaf of sourdough bread yesterday. Makes great sandwiches as well as toast. Gotta love melted butter on a hot piece of sourdough toast.
Also had a few phone calls today. My cousin is recuperating well from her heart attack. She has a Home Health nurse scheduled to come out on Monday. Not sure how often she will be out to check on her. But that is a start for sure.
Hope you all had a good day. Enjoy your evening as well.
Photo is mine.

I enjoyed my workday working on surveys as well as sharing good news stories on this site. This evening is going to be wonderful since Memorable Television will be carrying comedy hour with the Three Stooges and Svengoolie for a four hour block shows.

@CarolDM Seeing the Svengoolie show is very funny since he has a great sense of humor poking fun of himself while giving out information of the actors in the movie.

I'm so glad your cousin is getting home health care, even one day a week is helpful. You toasted tuna melt looks so delicious, I know that it was:)

Your dinner sounds fantastic, except for the fish part. (I'm allergic to fish. )
Everything has been a bit on the wonky side today. Two important prescriptions didn't get filled today. One for blood pressure and the new one for my eyes. (The pharmacy said there was a change in the blood pressure pill from the doctor and they don't have the required dose in stock so they've ordered it. And they still can't get the new eye drops in. Not sure when they will get it in, either.) My blood pressure is running really high so I'm not feeling the best. *shrug* It is what it is...
I hope you have a wonderful night.

@CarolDM I ate a grilled cheese sandwich for supper last night, on potato bread. Pretty makes excellent grilled cheese sandwiches.
Thanks.

I have not eaten sourdough bread so do not know how it tastes toated or otherwise. What do you put on your tuna melt? Is that instead of grilled cheese you used tuna? I am glad to hear that your cousin is recuperating from her heart attack and is scheduled for a Home Health nurse to visit her.

I am so sorry that she is back in the ER. What happened? So you do not make it with tuna? Have you ever made tuna patties? I have a long time ago. I can find smoked salmon in can where I like to go. I may try and see how they go or use tuna and make them.

@Hannihar Yes I use tuna on mine. And I love tuna patties too. Here is my latest update on my cousin. She started with shoulder pain and then nausea. And finally went to the ER.
Updating you on my cousin who spent the night in the ER last night. No rooms were available at the hospital. She called this morning at 10:am to let me know she...

Glad your cousin is doing better, hopefully she will continue to heal.
i love sourdough. Especially just toasted with a bit of butter, so good. I made a couple of gallons of vegetable beef soup as what I had in the freezer is gone. Plus, I need to be sure Dale gets his when I do make it, it's his favorite. Between me and another neighbor, we try to be sure he gets homemade soup whenever we make some, he just loves soups.

@MarieCoyle Thank you Marie. At least she knows what is gong on for now. That helps you deal with it. But she just has so much going on. I wish I was closer to help. But her nurses will come visit when she gets home. She has home health already setup for that. Not sure when she will be discharged yet. I have a neighbor I bake bread and brownies for, have talked about him many times here. He seems to enjoy our visits.

I do hope your cousin can feel better soon. Sorry to hear of her aneurism. Yes, they usually do not operate on those until they get to a certain size, which can literally be years. I hope she can recover well from her hospital visit, Carol.
I always share soup with my neighbor Dale. He is nearly 90. Lives alone, his wife passed away this spring. They were married over 60 years, and he is a lost soul. He loves homemade soup, especially vegetable beef, so when I make it I always make sure he gets some. He smiled so big when he answered the door and saw me with soup. Made it all worthwhile. .

Just reading the word 'sourdough' makes me hungrier. Haven't had dinner yet. Chili is on the menu tonight.

That tuna melt on sourdough bread sounds delicious! I haven't made anything great lately, but my boss did bring me a loaf of homemade pumpkin bread, and it is heavenly. Thankfully, I'm slowly getting my appetite back after being sick for almost a month.
Sorry to hear about your cousin, but glad she survived the heart attack.
