Now that we are officially into December it's time to talk about the Holidays and the symbols of Christmas . Many people don't realize the symbols of Christmas until they are told about them and below I would like to list just a few. 1 Candy cane The candy cane symbols the shepherd's crook that they used back in the time of Christ The red and white stripes symbolize the blood he shed on the cross and the white symbolizes his purity and perfection. 2. Santa Clause (father Christmas) A. Santa's snowy white beard: symbolic of the wisdom of God B. Santa's red outfit: reminds us of the blood shed for our sins C. Santas Black boots: a reminder of Hell should we be evil and not turn from our evil ways D. The coal: a kindly reminder to those who are naughty of where they will end up should they continue on their evil path. E. Gifts that Santa brings: a reminder of the daily gifts and blessings that Christ and God give us 3. The Christmas Tree A. evergreen branches: Jesus's everlasting love for us B. Christmas lights symbolize the stars that shone above the christ child in the manger C. the star symbolizes the star of David that shone in the east over Bethleham D. Angels symbolize the hosts of Angels that sung over the fields of shepherds 4. Christmas gifts that we exchange Symbolic of the gifts brought to the Christ child by the wise men So this Holiday season when you are opening your gifts and decorating your tree and getting ready for Santa to visit remember the reason for the season. If you aren't of the Christian faith then please use this time to think of your loved ones and celebrate with the world in making it to another winter/summer season. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

Now that was some "wise" information you presented and very interesting. It's very true that the meanings of Christmas have been replaced by how many gifts we receive. Much of the soul of Christmas has been replaced with commercialization. Stores realized the profits to be made from the holiday and made the most of it. Retailers do not even wait for Thanksgiving to end.
