Things aren't working out as planned

Today was my first day of my seasonal job at Tuesday Morning. But I've found out this morning that I'd accidentally lost it. I thought it was today, but it was actually yesterday. When she said 12/6, I thought she meant the week of 12/6. So I'm officially out of the system. Besides that, my bus company never received the company letterhead email from the store manager of Tuesday Morning two weeks ago. So I've informed Danielle to let Jamie know as soon as I've arranged the bus to get back home.
When I spoke to Danielle, she told me that our kickoff party is scheduled for this Thursday morning with Jamie. This worked out fine since I planned to volunteer at the shelter this Thursday afternoon. And I received my approved resume from Jamie via Danielle. I don't like it. It looks ordinary and been scrubbed from important details. I'm willing to give it a try, but I doubt I'll get hired with a bland resume with no summary and position I'm applying for. Other details have been shortened or unlisted.
At this time, I'm putting all my interview and follow-up updates on hold until I know more after Tuesday morning. I'm also waiting to hear back from Marc's, when I called to follow-up around noon, and gave them my evening availability to work from 4-8 or 5-9.
A part of me wants to hang in there a tiny bit longer. But other half of me wants to give up and why go through this aggravating and stressful hassles and waiting periods. It's not worth it. Stick with Upwork and volunteering. Or do it on my own next year when I've landed interviews and offers with my resume template and regular resumes. I've been giving it my all, but I'm not getting anything back in return. That's how I'm feeling right now.
I'll check back in on Thursday with an update on what I've learned from my meeting after I'll volunteer that afternoon. And I hope to post my December recipe list in a day or two too.

Umm, I don't really understand this...12/6 was today. You honestly should have called if there was any confusion. They don't care about your issues with the bus system. They want someone who shows up on time to work. If you are making some money, I would stick with it a bit longer to see if anything develops, just my two cents. Let's hope Jamie knows what she is doing.

Yes. I thought I started on 12/6 when it was 12/5 in actuality. If I didn't have the issue with having the bus being authorized for work, it would've worked out. Plus I had to wait for Acme to delivery my groceries around the same time. So it was a lost cause. I did let Jamie and Danielle know about this. I did show up on time on Tuesday, though she wanted me there on Monday.

@KristenH So are you working there or not? It doesn't sound like it, if you are applying for all these other jobs?

@snowy22315 No. I was there for only one day, for an hour, last Tuesday. When I was out of the system, I lost my job last week.

This seems quite unfair, yesterday was the 5th of December. How did she explain this 12/6?

Yesterday was the first day for onboarding and training. She said it could be a short day with 3 hours or the full 5 hours. And since most people don't show up for their first day on their seasonal job, they're out of the system. Just like it was in the case for me. I'm well over it for now.

Sometimes things work out for the best. to bad about that seasonal job. While the money might've been nice, there could be a reason why it didn't work out. As for your resume, simple is better more often than not. People want a straight to the point document, not one that might sell you as to full of yourself or over-confident. So keep that in mind, too.

@KristenH Well it can be argued, when it comes to litter boxes cleaning them to the point they can be stacked and reused is the same thing as sanitizing them.

Got it Kayla. My resume's pretty straightforward and lists my duties in volunteering and what I did in September at Marc's. Just some facts and statements were incorrect. For example, I don't sanitize the litter boxes and dishes in the Cat Care kitchen-just clean and wash and sometimes stack them. Socializing with the pets wasn't listed. Most sentences were shortened.

Thanks Tina. Me too. I did alter the blah resume to make it a combo of theirs and mine a tinge. I'm willing to give it a shot and see which resume fares better and stands out.
