Cat Sanctuary

United States

Where my daughter and I live right now, there's about 6 or 8 strays that I have been feeding for almost 2 months now. I used to feed almost the same number but in another neighborhood. I have seen a cat sanctuary which is located in Minnesota. This cat sanctuary houses 150+ cats (kittens, old ones and others just really abandoned). I'm not really sure if they have in-house vets who spays/ neuters the cats. It seems that those cats are fixed once they're trapped and brought to this comforting sanctuary. I was wondering if only the government could have fundings for each community to have sanctuaries for strays, lost and abandoned, sick and old animals. Animals can't cook for themselves like humans do. They need us. Unfortunately, there are people who mostly hate cats and unfortunately, they get poisoned just to get rid of them. I just don't get that. How can those cat haters just be so heartless. Wouldn't it be nice if there will be cat sanctuaries or simply sanctuaries so stray population will be controlled, and no animals will be heartlessly killed or getting run over (either deliberately or accidentally). They didn't choose to just be roaming around and asking for food. They don't mean to ruin cat haters day. I wish when cat sanctuaries will be part of the president's plan, I wish there will also be in-house vets to attend to those cats/ dogs in need.

That's a nice tonight and it's good that any exist at all. Although organizations like the SPCA do help when it comes to getting cats and dogs and things fixed.

I imagine it would be hard to find all the stray cats in the neighborhood we do have animal control who pick up strays.

@RubyHawk That's true, too. Cat colonies are an issue in many areas. That's why TNR exists.

@kaylachan I suppose there isn’t enough room for all and strays are hard to catch.
