Akron Ohio Police officer Aaron Williams answered a call for help from a 70 year old male named Willie O' Neal who is who are inside of a home he shares with his mother Lorene Sampson who is 91 years of age and is wheelchair bound on Friday overnight were inside on November 25 is being praised for his act of heroism after he entered a burning building. Aaron had help from two paramedics who assisted him to crawl through the thick smoke to rescue Lorene first by carrying her out of the burning building outside so she can be out of danger. After Lorene was rescued, the trio then entered the burning building to rescue Willie was inside of a bathroom at the time of his bring rescued to safety. Both Lorene and Willie were sent to a hospital where they are recovering from their injuries at the Cleveland Clinic Akron General while Willie was taken to the Akron Children's Hospital burn unit. Aaron received thanks from the daughter and sister of the couple who were saved by the police officer who is Stephanie Muhammad lives in Phoenix. Aaron insists he is not a hero, just doing his job to serve and protect his community since Aaron joined the police force with three months of service. Aaron did not have to enter the burning home to save the mom and son since the firefighters are trained to save lives in burning buildings. In my view Aaron did what is right since saving lives is part of his job when he joined the force when he was sworn in.

Aaron admitted that he knew that he could lose his life entering a burning building before the firefighters arrived at the scene. However, he did take an oath to serve and protect his community as he will likely be rewarded by his fellow officers for his bravery at a later date.

I am in agreement with that Officer Williams is a brave man for entering a burning building to save both the mom and her son despite the fact that the firefighters had not arrived yet.

Very brave of him. You may take an oath to serve and protect but until you are in that situation you don't know how you will react. Thankful he was brave enough to react bravely when the time came!

I am in agreement with you since many acts of heroism is where the person who is going to make the save just acts on their instinct and bravery to make the save and hope that everything will be all right.

That is true since the firefighters had not arrived at the home that was on fire with the mom and son inside.
